Thirty-nine credits, almost all of them in front of the camera, and then this one behind it. Thai boys’ love is normally directed from inside its own circuit, by people who have made two or three of them already, or by directors crossing over from commercials and music video. A veteran screen actor of thirty years taking sole directing credit on a sixteen-episode series is a different arrangement, and it is the kind of thing a production does when it wants the genre handled by someone whose instincts were formed somewhere else.

The distribution supports that reading. The Crow Club goes out on ONE31, on OneD, and on Netflix. A Thai BL reaching Netflix at all is worth noting, because most of the catalogue on this site sells to iQIYI, WeTV, Viki or GagaOOLala instead. Netflix buys fewer of these and buys them later. A sixteen-episode run, an older cast and a director from outside the genre together look like a production built for that kind of buyer rather than for the weekly Thai slot alone.

His name is romanised two ways across the record, as Nopachai Jayanama and as Nopporn Chaiyanam. Thai has no single agreed transliteration into the Latin alphabet, so the same person routinely appears under several spellings. Both are kept here so that either one finds this page.
