Check In to You
SYNOPSIS
Check In to You is a six-episode South Korean boys love fantasy that squeezes a full body swap romance into short, easy bursts. Everything revolves around Badam Stay, a cozy seaside guesthouse where Yoon Ji-oh (Kim Dong-won) works as manager, a warm romantic who pours his whole heart into keeping the place a peaceful refuge for anyone who needs rest. That quiet balance breaks the day Cha Do-gyeong (Hwang Dong-hee) arrives as the guesthouse's new owner. Cold, exacting and driven by profit, he measures life in money, efficiency and results, and he has come with a plan to sell the property out from under Ji-oh. Their first meeting is pure oil and water, and neither man expects to spend another minute in the other's company.
Then an accident throws their lives, quite literally, into each other's hands. The two wake up to find their souls have swapped bodies, and each is trapped inside the life he has spent the story despising. The ruthless owner must navigate a world built on care, patience and hospitality, while the soft hearted manager is dropped into a routine reduced to transactions and control. Worse, the only route back to their own bodies may be a kiss, which turns every accidental brush of closeness into a problem and a temptation at once. Around them, Secretary Ha (Song Won-yeop) keeps trying to hold his boss's schedule together without understanding why the man has changed overnight, and Geum Su-ji (Yu Young-eun) watches the guesthouse's odd new atmosphere with growing suspicion. Living inside one another's circumstances, Do-gyeong and Ji-oh slowly recognize the hidden scars behind the traits they first rejected, and the bickering starts to sound a lot like affection.
Directed by Kim Tae-wook for the BL studio STRONGBERRY, the series is an original production rather than a novel adaptation, and it treats its high concept premise as a shortcut to intimacy rather than as a gimmick. The tone stays light throughout: comfort comedy, gentle opposites attract friction and a steady emotional thaw that somehow fits inside eleven minute episodes. It aired from 21 May to 18 June 2026, streaming globally on GagaOOLala and in Korea through Shortime. What holds it together is the quiet argument underneath the jokes, that you cannot really judge a person until you have carried their day, and the series keeps its answer about where these two finally land tucked away until the end.
