Amon Hirai

BIOGRAPHY

Amon Hirai (Japanese: 平井亜門; born September 28, 1995) is a Japanese actor signed to Sony Music Artists. Born in Mie Prefecture, he built his early career through television and film roles before becoming a familiar supporting-cast presence in Japanese drama.

Amon made his on-screen debut in 2015 with an appearance on the drama Gakkou no Kaidan (School’s Stairs). Over the following decade he steadily expanded into film, appearing in titles such as P and JK (2017), 36.8℃ (2018), and later taking lead roles in Kanda River’s Two People (2022) and Kimi to Mata (2023).

His filmography also includes appearances in “Situation Love”, “With You Again”, and the anthology drama “Sawako: It’s Endless Revenge”. In animation, he lent his voice to the character Chihiro Isuzugawa in the series UniteUp!, one of his few voice-acting credits alongside his live-action work.

In 2026, Amon joined the ensemble of the BS Fuji BL drama Fake Fact Lips, based on the manga by Machi Suehiro, playing Yuya Futami as part of the supporting cast surrounding leads Kaito Hori and Yusuke Sato.

Off-screen, Amon lists guitar, reading, film appreciation, and badminton among his interests, and has spoken about wanting to build a parallel career as a singer-songwriter. He also holds an official Japanese certification for handling hazardous materials.

BLGLFlix editorial view

He holds a national licence for handling flammable liquids.

Amon Hirai, born 28 September 1995 in Mie Prefecture, is signed to Sony Music Artists and plays Yuya Futami in the supporting cast of Fake Fact Lips.

The certification is a Class 4 hazardous materials qualification, the Japanese licence that lets somebody handle fuels and solvents. It is an ordinary working qualification, the kind held by people at petrol stations and in factories, and it sits on the record of an actor with eleven years of screen credits. Nothing forces a performer to disclose something like that, and its presence says more about how a working actor’s life is actually assembled than any award would.

His career is the shape most acting careers take and the shape least written about. A drama appearance in 2015, films through 2017 and 2018, two leads in small pictures in 2022 and 2023, one voice role, then steady supporting work. Nobody builds a fandom out of that. It is, however, employment, and it lasts longer than most fandoms do.

He plays guitar, writes songs and has talked about a parallel career as a singer-songwriter.
