Fake Fact Lips

Fake Fact Lips (フェイクファクトリップス) sells itself on a single line: the most childish showdown in history begins with a fake kiss. Ryo Yotsuya (Kaito Hori) is the cool, unflappable ace of Sales Division 1. Zen Shido (Yusuke Sato) is the relentless genius of Division 2. The two have been rivals since high school, keeping score over grades, sports and every other contest available to a pair of competitive teenagers, and they are equally horrified to learn that the company which hired one of them has hired the other as well. Neighbouring divisions, the same floor, a decade of unfinished business.

The truce lasts roughly until the first sales ranking is posted. After another humiliating loss, the two drink together and admit the one arena in which neither has ever scored: romance. Both are hopeless at it. The admission becomes, inevitably, a bet, and the terms are pure schoolyard logic: whoever makes the other fall in love first wins. What follows is a campaign of strategic, entirely insincere courtship waged by two men who are flawless in a client meeting and useless the second real feeling enters the room. Watching from the sidelines are Yuya Futami (Amon Hirai), a colleague who notices more than either of them intends, Yuma Onishi (Yutaro Zaitsu), Zen's junior at the company, Riku Mochida (Ken Shimazu), an old university classmate of Ryo's, and Shota Higashino (Asahi Amano). Every nudge from the office ensemble makes the performance harder to sustain, and neither lead has planned for the possibility that he is the one who breaks first.

Adapted from Suehiro Machi's single-volume manga, serialized in Takeshobo's Qpa magazine between 2020 and 2021, the drama was directed by Kei Taguchi, with Takeshi Matsuura taking episodes three and four, from scripts by Natsume Karasuma and Taguchi. Durandal produced it for BS Fuji, where the ten roughly 26-minute episodes aired weekly on Thursdays from April 24 to June 26, 2026, with catch-up viewing on TVer and international streaming through iQIYI, GagaOOLala and Taiwan's friDay影音. The adaptation gives itself room the manga never had, adding a high-school flashback strand with Ren Fujii and Ibuki Horiguchi as the teenage Ryo and Zen, so the rivalry carries visible history rather than reported history. The tone stays comic and brisk, built on workplace pride and stubborn refusal, and the manga's own two-volume sequel, Fake Fact Lips BREAK, hints at how much further these two could still have to go.
