Kwon Do-yoon (Jang In-kyu) is the kind of team leader a Korean office both needs and quietly resents: exacting, unsentimental and good enough at his job that nobody bothers arguing with him. His perfectionism has bought him respect and cost him closeness, the distance he keeps is deliberate, and it has left him far lonelier than his colleagues would ever guess. Then a career-ending crisis lands on his desk, the kind of failure that finishes people quietly rather than loudly, and an anonymous stranger steps in and pulls him out of it. Do-yoon spends the days afterwards trying to work out exactly who he owes. The answer turns out to be the one name he would never have chosen: Seo Ji-hyuk (Gu Do-hyung), the privileged company rookie whose effortless path into the building is precisely what Do-yoon has spent years resenting.

Knowing changes nothing and everything at once. Gratitude and workplace hierarchy make an awkward pair, and Backdoor keeps its two leads locked into the same rooms, meetings, corridors, late shifts, while the balance of power between them refuses to settle. Ji-hyuk proves harder to dismiss than his reputation suggested; Do-yoon is harder to reach than his sharpness implies, and every step the two take toward each other has to be taken somewhere being watched is the default setting. Seo Young-woo (Jung Jae-bin) fills out the small ensemble around them, part of the office world that keeps pushing the two men back into each other's path. The enemies-to-lovers pull here is less about grand gestures than about which of them is willing to stop performing first.

Backdoor (백도어) is an original South Korean short-form web drama from SUKFILM, a studio that built its name on minutes-long BL released straight to its own YouTube channel rather than to a broadcaster or a subscription platform. It premiered on 31 May 2026 and ran weekly into late June, four episodes of roughly nine to eleven minutes each, English-subtitled from day one and free to watch. That compression is the entire design: the series trades slow-burn breathing room for a fast emotional read, treating the office as a pressure cooker rather than a backdrop and letting the mystery of the anonymous rescue carry its opening episodes. Whether Do-yoon ever lets Ji-hyuk past the guard he has spent a whole career building is what the final episode keeps to itself.
