SYNOPSIS

Fake Fact Lips (Japanese: フェイクファクトリップス) is a Japanese boys' love (BL) manga by Suehiro Machi (末広マチ). Serialized in Takeshobo's Qpa magazine (Bamboo Comics Qpa Collection) from 2020 to 2021 and collected in a single volume, it is the original source work behind the 2026 Japanese live-action drama of the same name. The series is published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment (a single large-trim edition, 2025).

It follows lifelong rivals Ryo and Zen, who have competed over everything since high school — grades, sports, even Valentine's chocolates. Reunited as salesmen at the same company, their rivalry reignites, until a drunken conversation turns into their most ridiculous bet yet: whoever makes the other fall in love first wins.

A sharp, sexy enemies-to-lovers comedy, it was followed by a two-volume sequel, "Fake Fact Lips BREAK" (Takeshobo, 2023), which continues the couple's story after they get together — complete with jealousy, distance, and a new third party shaking things up.
