BLGLFlix editorial view
He was hosting television when the leads of this show were four years old. That gap is the most interesting thing on the call sheet.
Ah Ben started in 2007, on VJ Pop Style and in the drama 18, Censoring or Not?, then led Choc7 as guitarist and hosted Wowbaby and Youth Union through Taiwan’s idol-variety years. He also writes. In 2026 he takes the supporting part of Jun Wei in Smile After Tears, a BL carried by a boy group formed in 2024.
Taiwanese BL runs on idol groups, and idol groups are young. Productions built that way still need someone who can play an adult without the scene tilting, and they reach for people from the previous generation of the same industry. He came up through exactly the machinery that produced ARKis, two decades earlier.
The education fields are filled here, unusually: Ming Chuan for the undergraduate degree, then graduate work in radio and television at National Chengchi. Performers who studied the medium academically are rare in this catalogue, and it is worth recording where it happens.
