Chen Zihan, Chinese actor in The Summer You Kissed Me

Chen Zihan

BIOGRAPHY

Chen Zihan (陈子涵, also credited as Chen Zi Han) is a Chinese actor born on 1 October 2002. He plays Chen Yandi in The Summer You Kissed Me (被你吻过的夏天), a 2026 Boys’ Love production that exists in two forms and is his only credited work.

The story sends a young man still carrying the damage of an earlier relationship to Lijiang, in Yunnan, where he meets the bright and direct Gao Ran, played by Wang Chen Rui. A summer that begins as an accident of shared lodging becomes a first love, and the film’s own synopsis refers to Chen Yandi by the affectionate short form Didi. Both versions are directed by a filmmaker credited only as MR.D and produced by Secret Of Us, a Chinese production company.

It first appeared as a five-episode short-form series, released between 4 and 18 June 2026, with episodes running between ten and sixteen minutes. On 17 August 2026 the same story was released again as a fifty-seven-minute film. The five episodes total fifty-eight minutes of screen time, so the feature is almost exactly the series assembled into one sitting. Both versions carry the same two actors, the same director and the same production company, and both are distributed by GagaOOLala, the Taiwan-based LGBTQ+ streaming service run by Portico Media, which launched worldwide in 2020.

Beyond the role and a date of birth, the public record on him is close to empty. TMDB holds no biography, no place of birth, no IMDb identifier, no Wikidata item and no social accounts for him, and holds a single photograph.

BLGLFlix editorial view

One small title carries two of the defining shapes of Chinese queer screen work this decade. It is a Chinese-language BL made by a small independent company, released first as a set of ten-to-sixteen-minute episodes and then recut into a feature, and licensed not to a mainland platform but to a Taiwanese LGBTQ+ streamer that distributes internationally. Short-form-first production and offshore distribution are both here in a single fifty-seven-minute work. This page describes that pattern rather than explaining why it exists, because the honest answer to why involves regulatory questions that cannot be documented here from primary sources.

The two versions are also a genuine cataloguing headache. TMDB carries them as separate records, one television and one film. They are not separate works in any meaningful sense: same cast, same director, same fifty-odd minutes. This site keeps one record, for the series. Treating the film as a new title would inflate his filmography from one work to two; treating them as one and saying nothing would hide a real release that people will search for. So the page states plainly that there is one story in two releases, which is what is true.

The empty half of this page is deliberately not filled with inference. He is credited in one production, one photograph of him exists, and beyond a date of birth the record is blank. A page that reads as short is a more useful page than one padded out with assumptions.

TRIVIA

His entire filmography is one story released twice. The five-episode series and the fifty-seven-minute film share the same cast, the same director, the same production company and almost exactly the same running time.

The episodes are short even by microdrama standards: sixteen, twelve, ten, ten and ten minutes. The first is titled “Wrong room?”, which tells you how the two characters meet.

The story is set in Lijiang, in Yunnan province. Chinese BL is overwhelmingly shot in studio interiors or in the big coastal cities, so a small independent production going to a southwestern tourist town for its summer is a real choice rather than a default.

The director is credited only as MR.D, with no other name given on either release. That level of anonymity is not unusual for independent Chinese queer productions.

His co-star Wang Chen Rui has four other credits, including Will You Think of Me First? in 2025 and two 2026 titles. Chen Zihan has none. They are billed as a pair but they are at very different points in their careers.

Both versions are carried by GagaOOLala, which launched worldwide in 2020 and is operated from Taiwan by Portico Media. A Chinese-language production reaching its audience through a Taiwanese platform is a common route for this kind of title.

His date of birth, 1 October 2002, appeared on TMDB only after we first wrote about him in August 2026. Earlier versions of this page correctly stated that no birth date was available.
