Naoya Gomoto
BIOGRAPHY
Naoya Gomoto (Japanese: 郷本直也; born 25 April 1980) is a Japanese actor with more than twenty five credits on record, most of them in the Japanese stage-adaptation circuit known as 2.5-D theatre, where manga and anime are staged with live performers.
His earliest recorded work is the role of Kaoru Kaidoh in the Musical: Prince of Tennis company, which he played across five productions between September 2003 and March 2005, including the Dream Live 1st concert. That series of shows is one of the founding franchises of the whole 2.5-D form.
He has returned to the format repeatedly since. He played Shingo Kinjo across twenty episodes of Yowamushi Pedal (2016), Musashi Gouda in the Mob Psycho 100 stage productions (2018 and 2019), Kazuma Kuwabara in both chapters of the Yu Yu Hakusho stage drama (2020), Sebastian Moran in Moriarty the Patriot (2021) and Rei Amayado in three Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle productions between 2023 and 2024. Alongside the stage work he appears in the screen productions Panic 4 Rooms (2009), Asura Girl: A Blood-C Tale (2017), both Blood-Club Dolls films (2018 and 2020), the series REAL⇔FAKE (2019) and the two-part Silver Fang adaptation (2019 and 2021).
His work inside this site’s remit is Satoshi Asahina in Cherry Magic The Musical: Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!, staged in April 2025 at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL and Aiplaza Toyohashi.
