Chokun Watcharaphon Suwanrueang
BIOGRAPHY
Watcharaphon Suwanrueang (Thai: วัชรพล สุวรรณเรือง), known by the nicknames Chokun and Shogun, is a Thai actor whose recorded work belongs entirely to 2019.
Studio Oh Ha Oh put out If I Love A Boy as five separate short films, one a week from 21 June to 19 July 2019. The last of them is his: Night Before Everything, where the studio’s own copy bills the pair as Chokun and Nut, with Nut Nathanon Metharathip opposite him. The earlier weeks carried Mom, Please Do Not Disturb, You Never Eat Alone, Hand On Me and Everybody Run.
One further 2019 credit surfaces, a supporting part named Phukan in the ONE 31 series Thank God It’s Friday (ขอบคุณวันสุข). It comes from a source this site uses only to cross-check and never to establish a fact, and nothing treated as primary confirms it. It is noted here as unresolved.
Nothing else is on record at all. No birthday, no hometown, no representation, no photograph, and not one credit after 2019.
BLGLFlix editorial view
This actor has no entry in the major international film databases at all. Not a thin entry, not an entry without a photograph: no record. He led half of a short film in a boys’ love anthology and the global infrastructure that catalogues screen work never registered that he existed. The only reason we can name the role at all is that the production company’s own description of the anthology, reproduced on the series record, lists the pairing for each film by nickname.
That is worth sitting with, because it is not rare. Early Thai BL was built on short films, web series and small studios, and the people who made it are systematically missing from the records that the rest of the world uses to know what happened. A database is not a neutral mirror of an industry; it is a mirror of which parts of an industry someone bothered to enter. We index this actor precisely because the alternative is to let a real credit vanish for want of a row in someone else’s spreadsheet.
What we will not do is fill the gap with the nearest available source. A second 2019 credit is recorded for him, as a character called Phukan in Thank God It’s Friday, but it appears only in a source this site uses for cross-checking and never as a primary record. The cast lists we do accept for that series do not name him. It may well be true; incomplete cast lists are the norm for 2019 Thai productions. But “probably true” is not the standard, so it is described here as unconfirmed rather than written into the filmography. If a production-side source surfaces, it will be added properly.
The broadcaster is worth a second look. Thank God It’s Friday is a ONE 31 series carrying a boys’ love keyword, from 2019. One31 turns up elsewhere in this database as a broadcaster quietly running a queer slate, and the earliest title on that list is from 2023. This one is from 2019, which pushes the slate back at least four years.
Two nicknames, one person. He is recorded as both Chokun and Shogun. Thai performers are usually credited by nickname rather than legal name, and when a nickname is romanised more than one way the same actor can end up looking like two. We keep both forms visible on this page so a search for either finds the right person.
