The interesting thing here is the room, not the résumé. A first credit is a first credit, but where you get it matters, and this one sits inside what looks very much like One31’s standing queer-drama writing team. Chawanon Sarapat and Wantawil Suknoy both wrote Laws of Attraction for One31 in 2023, a series that carries both the boys’ love and the girls’ love keyword. Chawanon Sarapat then wrote Century of Love, another One31 boys’ love series, in 2024. Now the two of them, plus Apirat Hinkaew, have written a period BL for the same channel in 2026. That is three queer titles in four years from an overlapping writing group at one Thai broadcaster.

People tend to talk about Thai BL as a GMMTV story with everyone else in orbit around it. One31 is doing something quieter and, on this evidence, quite deliberate: keeping a writing partnership on staff and handing it queer material repeatedly, across a lesbian-and-gay ensemble legal drama, a fantasy romance and now a period piece. It is a different production logic from the pairing-driven, fandom-first model, and it produces different shows.

What the 1932 setting is doing. A boys’ love drama placed in the year absolute monarchy ended in Siam is not a costume choice. The premise is a titled royal and the son of the woman who nursed him, and the year is the year the entire ranking system behind that gap came under attack. Thai coverage of the launch made the same connection, framing the series as a story about the right to love and about human dignity set against the revolution. Whether the eleven episodes actually earn that framing is a question for the series page rather than a writer’s profile, but the ambition is on the record rather than inferred here.

This page is short because the Thai television industry does not publish much about its writers, particularly new ones, and because padding it with unestablished claims would be worse than leaving it brief. What it can do is say exactly whose work this credit sits beside, and that is what the rest of it is for.
