Goto Reiga
BIOGRAPHY
Goto Reiga (Japanese: 後藤礼雅) is a Japanese anime producer, credited on eleven series between 2023 and 2026, including Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami (やたらやらしい深見くん, 2025), the adaptation of Ayaka Matsumoto’s Boys’ Love manga.
Eleven series, every one of them eight episodes
The record has a signature that is impossible to miss once you see it. Every single credit reads producer, eight episodes. Not seven, not twelve. Eight, eleven times running.
The titles are Fufu Kokan: Modorenai Yoru (2023), Adam’s Sweet Agony (2024), Taisho Era Contract Marriage (2024), The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character! (当て馬キャラのくせして、スパダリ王子に寵愛されています。, 2024), Yoasobi Gurashi! (2024), Marry Me, Let’s Have a Baby! (2025), Room of Guilty Pleasure (2025), The Share House’s Secret Rule (2025), Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami (2025), Ren Arisugawa Is Actually a Girl (2026) and Marika’s Love Meter Malfunction (2026).
Two carry Boys’ Love classification: The Perfect Prince Loves Me, the Side Character! and Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami. All eleven are adapted from manga and all are made for an adult audience.
They broadcast on the same pair of channels, Tokyo MX and BS11, and one company appears on every production: Suiseisha. The animation studios rotate underneath it, studio HōKIBOSHI, STUDIO MAUSU, studio LEO, but the producing company does not.
BLGLFlix editorial view. Elsewhere in this catalogue we described the route Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami took to the screen from the author’s side: digital serialisation on ComicFesta from December 2022, an anime three years later, and an unusually hands-on music credit for the mangaka. This page is that same story from the factory floor, and it changes the emphasis.
Eleven eight-episode series in four years, all from manga, all through one company, all on the same two channels, is not a series of creative decisions. It is a production line with a fixed format. A property enters at one end, is cut to eight episodes, and comes out the other. The animation studio is chosen per job, the way a printer is chosen.
Our own read is that this explains something readers often find puzzling: why Japanese Boys’ Love anime adaptations are so short, so consistent in length, and so unevenly spaced. They are not commissioned individually against creative merit. They occupy slots on a schedule that already exists, and the slot is eight episodes wide. A manga does not get animated because it deserves it. It gets animated because a slot came up and it fits.
There is one more thing worth naming. Suiseisha publishes the Fukami manga volumes and also produces the anime. The publisher and the producer are the same house, which is why that property moved from serialisation to screen in three years rather than the seven or eight a licensed adaptation would take. Vertical integration is the whole mechanism, and this producer’s credit list is what it looks like written out.
