Im Jung-gyu

BIOGRAPHY

Im Jung-gyu (Korean: 임정규; born November 5, 1997) is a South Korean actor. He plays Seong Jin-u in The Lie We Lived In (2026), a high-school classmate of Chu Tae-jeong.

He debuted in 2017 as a member of the seven-member boy group Seven O’Clock, formed by Staro Entertainment and KDH Entertainment, serving as vocalist and sub-rapper. He stepped back from group activities in late 2019. The group later moved to Forest Network before disbanding in March 2021.

He subsequently shifted toward acting and content creation, fronting the YouTube vlog series Cityboy_Log from November 2023. His acting credits include a supporting role in the film Victory (2024) and the web drama FC Soldout (2025) as Han Dong-hee, before he was cast in The Lie We Lived In, released on Wavve in 2026.

No admissible source publishes his current talent agency, birthplace, height, weight or blood type.

BLGLFlix editorial view

His group changed companies twice and then dissolved. That churn is the ordinary experience of Korean pop, not the exception.

Im Jung-gyu debuted in 2017 with Seven O’Clock, formed jointly by Staro Entertainment and KDH Entertainment, as vocalist and sub-rapper. He stepped back from activities in late 2019. The group moved to Forest Network and disbanded in March 2021. Two labels, one relocation, four years, no lasting result.

What he did next is the part worth recording. From November 2023 he has fronted the vlog series Cityboy_Log, which makes content creation a third career option alongside idol and actor, and one that does not need a company at all. Former group members increasingly take it because it is the only route where nobody else controls the schedule.

The acting followed: a supporting part in the film Victory in 2024, the web drama FC Soldout in 2025, and Seong Jin-u in The Lie We Lived In on Wavve. No current agency is published, and for someone building an audience directly that absence may be deliberate rather than a gap.
