Jang In-kyu

BIOGRAPHY

Jang In-kyu (장인규, also romanised Jang In-gyu) is a South Korean actor. One credit is on the public record, and it is a leading role.

In Backdoor (백도어), a boys’ love web series produced by SUKFILM and released on YouTube between 31 May and 21 June 2026, Jang In-kyu plays Kwon Do-yoon, opposite Gu Do-hyung as Seo Ji-hyuk. The story is an office romance: an anonymous stranger pulls Do-yoon out of a crisis at work, and the rescuer turns out to be the privileged new arrival he had least wanted to owe anything to. Jung Jae-bin, Mun Seok-ho and Baek Kang-yoon are also in the cast.

For an actor, this record is unusually bare: no birth date, no birthplace, no biography, not even alternative spellings of the name. A single social handle appears on it and is withheld here, for the reason set out in the editor notes. Wikipedia returns other Korean figures, none of them this one.

BLGLFlix editorial view

A first credit that is also a lead is worth pausing over, because it is not how acting careers usually start and it is becoming a recognisable feature of Korean BL.

Look at the two leads of this one series side by side. Gu Do-hyung came to Backdoor from supporting parts in a twenty four episode KBS2 family drama and a twelve episode JTBC romcom, finishing one seven weeks before starting the other. Jang In-kyu arrived with nothing on record at all. One actor stepping down in scale to step up in billing, one actor starting at the top of a very small production. Both playing leads, in the same show, on YouTube.

That is what a genre with no established casting route looks like from the inside. Thailand has GMMTV, which signs people young and moves them through a slate. Korea has this: a small production company, a free platform, and a cast assembled from whoever is available and right, whether that is a working television actor between jobs or someone with no credits yet. This site has already recorded a third variant of the same improvisation, a BL web series casting two of its five actors out of a reality dating show.

The honest limit of this page is that one credit tells us almost nothing about a person. What it tells us about is the production, and about an industry where a debut and a leading role can be the same thing because nobody is guarding the door.

  • Plays opposite Gu Do-hyung, who came to the same series from supporting parts on KBS2 and JTBC.
  • Backdoor was released on YouTube by SUKFILM, not on a broadcaster or a subscription platform.
  • Sources disagree on the episode count, giving either five or thirteen.
  • The whole run went out inside three weeks, from 31 May to 21 June 2026.
  • The name appears in two romanisations, Jang In-kyu and Jang In-gyu.

The series record gives five and the actors’ own credits give thirteen. BLGLFlix reports both figures rather than choosing between them, and the count should be rechecked from an official source.

Is Backdoor really the first credit

It is the only one on the public record. That is not the same as the only one that exists, and small Korean productions are systematically under recorded, so this page says what the record shows and no more.

Who else is in the cast

Jung Jae-bin as Seo Young-woo, Mun Seok-ho as an audit team manager, and Baek Kang-yoon as Secretary Kim.
