Kathaleeya McIntosh, known as Mam, born 10 November 1972 in Bangkok to a Scottish father and a Thai Chinese mother, began modelling at fifteen and moved into television drama in the early 1990s. In 2026 she appears in The Edge of Horizon (อรุณรุ่ง).

Thai television in the nineties was visibly built around performers of mixed heritage, and a generation of leading actors came from exactly that background. Three decades later those same people are the parents, the aunts and the authority figures in productions aimed at an audience that was not alive when they debuted, which is how the profession works everywhere and is rarely written down anywhere.

Casting them into boys love does something to the finished thing. A young ensemble surrounded by faces the older half of the audience grew up watching changes who the show is legible to, and mid tier Thai productions have been doing it deliberately.
