Kazuhiro Ito

BIOGRAPHY

Kazuhiro Ito (伊藤和宏) is a Japanese television producer. Every credit on the public record is an executive producer credit, and all seven of them fall inside two years, between October 2024 and April 2026.

The first is Wingman (ウイングマン), ten episodes of about twenty three minutes on TV Tokyo and its affiliates from 23 October 2024. It is a live action adaptation of a shounen manga, and its company list is long and conventional: Toei Video Company, DMM TV, TV Tokyo, Central Arts, Ishimori Production, Bandai and others.

After that the pattern changes and holds. Five consecutive quarters, each with a short form drama adapted from a manga:

  • 5 April 2025, 黒弁護士の痴情 世界でいちばん重い純愛, twelve episodes of about thirteen minutes.
  • 3 July 2025, We Can’t Do Just Plain Love (ただの恋愛なんかできっこない), twelve episodes on Tokyo MX.
  • 2 October 2025, Tachibana-kun Daite Kudasai! (橘くん抱いてください!), twelve episodes on DMM TV, produced by MINY MIX CREATIVE.
  • 10 January 2026, Oshiete Kudasai, Fujishima-san! (教えてください、藤縞さん!), three episodes on Tokyo MX.
  • 7 April 2026, two titles on the same day: Inukai-san wa Kakure Dekiai Joshi (犬飼さんは隠れ溺愛上司) on Tokyo MX, and the live action Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami.

The live action Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami (やたらやらしい深見くん) is the title this profile is linked to. Ten episodes from 7 April 2026 on Tokyo MX and DMM TV, produced by MINY MIX CREATIVE, directed by Emiko Shirai with a screenplay by Nao Shioji, adapted from Ayaka Matsumoto’s manga. Kashio Atsuki and Yu Miyazaki lead. TMDB classifies it as boys’ love (bl), slice of life and adapted from both a manga and an anime, the anime being the eight episode version broadcast a year earlier.

No personal information is attached to this record: birth details, biography, accounts and gender are all unfilled. The only Wikipedia result was the article on the series. Those fields stay empty rather than being filled from somewhere less careful.

BLGLFlix editorial view

Read the dates as a column and the thing becomes obvious. April 2025. July 2025. October 2025. January 2026. April 2026, twice. That is five consecutive quarters with a short form manga adaptation in each, all under the same executive producer, most of them on Tokyo MX. This is not a producer who takes on BL projects. This is a slot, and BL is one of the things that goes into it.

That matters more than it sounds. Every other country this site has looked at answers the question of who pays for queer stories with something improvised. Taiwan turned a platform into a studio. Korea routed it through a telecom app because no broadcaster would take it. China is now sending danmei through co-production paperwork with Singapore. Thailand built studios around it. Japan’s answer is the oldest and least dramatic in the region: a broadcaster has a quarter of airtime to fill, a publishing industry with an inexhaustible supply of adaptable properties sits next door, and somebody has to produce twelve short episodes every three months. BL is simply one of the categories in the catalogue.

The Wingman credit makes the same point from the other direction. The non queer work on this record is a tokusatsu adaptation with Bandai, Toei Video and Ishimori Production attached, a much larger production than anything else here. This is a working television producer, not a specialist. We have now found the same thing in Thailand, where the writer of GAP also writes Channel 3 lakorns, and in Taiwan, where the producer of a GL feature came up scoring horror films. Across four countries, queer drama is overwhelmingly made by generalists who also make everything else.

One production company is worth watching. MINY MIX CREATIVE made Tachibana-kun Daite Kudasai! in October 2025 and the Fukami live action in April 2026, two of the three most recent entries. Like Baanchan Production in Thailand and Force Films in Taiwan, it is a small house with a repeat record in this space and almost no recognition outside its own market. The interesting infrastructure is never the famous names.
