One of the few GL performers with a record on this site, and the reason there are so few is not that the work does not exist.

Lyan Cheng took the role of Ting-Ting opposite Zaizai Lin in Fragrance of the First Flower, across a first season and then a second that arrived four years later in 2025. Four years between seasons of a well-received show is not a production delay, it is what happens when a GL title has to find funding on different terms than a BL title does.

She was already established before either: a television career from around 2010, a lead in the 2013 romantic comedy Fabulous Boys, and parallel work as a model and singer. In the second season her character fronts a band, which is writing built around what the performer can actually do rather than around what the plot needs.

This catalogue is honest about the imbalance. GL entries are a small fraction of the BL ones, because far fewer GL productions get made and far fewer of those get documented well enough to write about. A page like this exists partly to mark where the coverage thins out.
