Nao Shioji

BIOGRAPHY

Nao Shioji (潮路奈和), a name also romanised as Ushioji Nawa, is a Japanese screenwriter. Two credits are on the public record, both from 2026, both screenplays, both adaptations of boys’ love manga, and both ten episode dramas carried by Tokyo MX and DMM TV. They premiered three months apart.

The first is the live action Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami (やたらやらしい深見くん), ten episodes from 7 April 2026, produced by MINY MIX CREATIVE and directed by Emiko Shirai, adapted from Ayaka Matsumoto’s manga. Kashio Atsuki and Yu Miyazaki lead. Kazuhiro Ito is executive producer.

The second is a ten episode drama titled えっちなお尻じゃダメですか, which began on 7 July 2026. Miyako Yasoshima directs and it is adapted from a manga by 鳩屋タマ. TMDB classifies it as boys’ love (bl) and based on manga. Its English language title is not reproduced on this page.

The person entry carries a name and credits, then stops. Birth date, birthplace, biography and accounts are absent, and the gender field is unset. Wikipedia has the Fukami series but nothing on its writer. Blank is the accurate state of those fields.

BLGLFlix editorial view

Two credits is a short record, and a short record usually leaves little to say. Not this time, because of what the two have in common. Same channel pair. Same episode count. Same genre. Same three month gap that separates one Japanese television quarter from the next. Different director, different manga, different author. The variable is everything except the writer.

Read alongside the Kazuhiro Ito profile, the picture completes itself. That record shows five consecutive quarters of short form manga adaptations under one executive producer, mostly on Tokyo MX. This credit adds the sixth: July 2026, Tokyo MX and DMM TV again. Six straight quarters. Whatever the internal arrangement is called, it behaves like a standing production line, and Nao Shioji looks like one of the writers who keeps it fed.

That is a genuinely different position from the one BL writers occupy elsewhere in the region. A Thai novelist sells a book and a studio adapts it. A Korean screenwriter carries a franchise across seasons. Here the unit is neither the book nor the franchise but the slot itself: a quarterly ten episode commission that needs a script whichever manga has been licensed this time. The writer is not attached to a story. The writer is attached to the schedule.

It is also worth saying plainly that this is what a functioning industry looks like from the inside, and it is unglamorous. There is no auteur here and no breakthrough moment. There is a broadcaster with airtime, a publisher with a catalogue, a producer, a rotating bench of directors and a writer turning manga into ten episodes every quarter. Japan has been doing this longer than anyone else in the region, which is exactly why its BL output rarely makes headlines and never seems to stop.

Why is one series title given only in Japanese here

Its English language title contains wording BLGLFlix does not publish. The site names mature themes neutrally and never reproduces language of that kind, so the work is identified by its Japanese title, its date and its database record instead.

Is the July 2026 drama finished

Not as of this page’s last update. It is recorded as a returning series with ten episodes.
