Alex Diaz

Alex Diaz is a Filipino-Scottish actor and singer. This catalogue holds him as Barry Cruz in Oh, Mando! (2020), the six-episode Dreamscape Entertainment and Found Films series made for iWantTFC, opposite Kokoy de Santos in the title role.

His start is documented only in outline. Speaking to the Philippine Daily Inquirer in October 2021, he described himself as nine years into show business, which places the beginning around 2012; a TVmaze entry says that beginning was as a radio jock, before a move into theatre and then television. Neither of those is a debut credit, and this page does not invent one to fill the gap.

What is documented is the shape of the work. In the Philippines he has appeared in Oh, Mando! for Dreamscape, in the TV5 suspense thriller Carpool, and in an episode of the GMA anthology My Fantastic Pag-ibig. He is represented by Cornerstone Entertainment, and separately by a Los Angeles agent who, by his own account, found him through YouTube.

He has an unusually physical training background for a screen actor: ballet, contemporary jazz, tap and gymnastics. For Glitter & Doom, an American jukebox musical built on Indigo Girls songs and produced by Speak Productions, he trained additionally in voice, juggling, circus performance and clowning, and took the lead role of Glitter opposite a cast including Ming-Na Wen, Missi Pyle and Alan Cammish. That film was shooting in Mexico City in October 2021, and he described it at the time as his biggest break.

Where this record is thin, and it is thin: he has no encyclopaedia article, no published agency biography was located, and the two dates available for his birth do not agree, so that field is left empty rather than resolved by preference. His Philippine television credits are known by title but not by year or character in most cases. Oh, Mando! is the only one of his works with a record on this site.
