Nguyen Tien Hai (Vietnamese: Nguyễn Tiến Hải) arrived in Vietnamese BL straight into a leading role. His first credit is Stupid Genius (2023), the RL Studio high-school series held here, in which he plays Vinh across all six episodes opposite Pham The Bang’s Khoa.
BL Watcher’s review of that series says so plainly in its note on the cast: he is a Vietnamese actor whose first BL project is Stupid Genius. The Movie Database holds the same credit with the same episode count, and adds one other, Fight for Love, dated 2025, in which he plays Nhật Trường across seven episodes. That is the whole of his recorded filmography: two titles, two years apart, both for the same company, and only the first of them catalogued on this site.
The company is worth naming because it explains the second credit. RL Studio made Stupid Boys Stupid Love, You Are My Sunshine, You Are My Stupid Boy, The Star Always Follows You, Stormy Honeymoon and Stupid Genius, and casts from a small pool that reappears from one production to the next. His co-lead on Stupid Genius is in Fight for Love too, playing Thế Vinh to his Nhật Trường. Two performers introduced together and rebooked together is a pattern that runs right through this studio’s output.
Very little else is on the record. TMDB gives Vietnam as his place of birth with no city and holds no birth date; there is no Wikipedia article, no MyDramaList entry and no interview that could be found and verified. An Instagram handle appears against his database entry but could not be opened and checked, so it is not published here. The absence is the ordinary condition of a Vietnamese BL performer’s documentation rather than anything specific to him, and this page states it rather than working around it.
Two credits in total, and both of them place him opposite the same actor.
A performer whose first job is a lead is not unusual in a scene this size; there is no supporting-role ladder to climb when a production has six episodes and a cast of seven. What is more telling is that the second job came two years later, from the same studio, with the same co-star.
That is how a small channel manages risk. A pair that worked once is cheaper to cast again than two unknowns, and the audience carried over from the first series comes with them. It also means a career here can be almost entirely dependent on one company’s commissioning decisions, which is worth keeping in mind when reading a filmography this short.
