X Nine (X玖少年团)

X Nine, styled X-NINE (Chinese: X玖少年团), was a Shanghai based Mandopop boy group formed through a joint programme by EE-Media, Tencent Video and SM Entertainment. The group debuted on 28 September 2016 with 以己之名 (In Our Own Name).

The final line up was Xiao Zhan, Peng Chuyue, Zhao Lei, Wu Jiacheng, Guo Zifan, Xia Zhiguang, Gu Jiacheng and Yan Xujia, with Chen Zexi as a former member. Xiao Zhan also works as an actor and holds a profile of his own in this catalogue.

The group released under EE-Media and then Wajijiwa Entertainment, and concluded on 18 July 2025 at the end of a ten year group contract.

X Nine moved from EE-Media to Wajijiwa Entertainment in 2017 and released two studio albums and ten singles across their run, including X Jiu in 2016 and Keep Online in 2018. Alongside music the members hosted reality programmes and radio shows and appeared in films such as Monster Hunt 2 and Fights Break Sphere.

In 2019 Zhao Lei, Xia Zhiguang and Yan Xujia competed on Produce Camp 2019 and debuted in R1SE, while Xiao Zhan’s screen work widened considerably from the same year. The group concluded on 18 July 2025, with the members updating their social media names and continuing separately in acting and music.
