Your Sky: Hare Nochi Koi (Your Sky ハレのち恋) is a Japanese Boys’ Love drama that premiered on TOKYO MX on 1 August 2026 in the channel’s late-night Saturday slot. It ran nine weekly episodes of around 25 minutes, and it is a remake of the Thai series Your Sky.

Hinata Funase (Ayuta Fukuda) has the specific problem of being unable to say no. A senior has decided he is interested and will not take a hint, and Hinata keeps agreeing to things he does not want because refusing feels crueller than going along. To get out of it he asks Sora Hanamura (Isshin Aihara), a cold and largely unbothered senior, to pretend to be his boyfriend.

Sora agrees. The arrangement is the first relationship Hinata has been in where the terms were stated out loud, and it is easier to be honest inside something both of them have agreed is fake.

The Japanese version is directed by Shugo Okabe and Hiroki Shibazaki, from scripts by Marina Furuse, Rei Ure and Hatsui Shiina, and produced by Mandee Work with The Works and TOKYO MX. Both leads come from music groups: Fukuda from DXTEEN and Aihara from ONE LOVE ONE HEART, with DXTEEN’s Taichi Taniguchi and NEWBEAT’s Park Min-seok also in the cast.

Your Sky: Hare Nochi Koi sends a Thai Boys’ Love series to Japan, with the original Thai producer Mandee Work credited on the remake.

Nine episodes of 24 to 26 minutes aired on TOKYO MX on Saturdays from 1 August to 26 September 2026, in the 25:30 JST slot that lands at 01:30 on Sunday morning. That is between 216 and 234 minutes for the whole story.

Hinata’s problem is his own reflex to agree, more than the senior who pursues him. A fake boyfriend hands him a script to follow, and the series uses that script to let him practise saying what he means.

Both leads come from music groups, Ayuta Fukuda from DXTEEN and Isshin Aihara from ONE LOVE ONE HEART, and each group performs one of the two theme songs.

A fake relationship is one of the few romance premises that requires the characters to say their terms aloud. Hinata and Sora have to agree what they are pretending and for whose benefit, so the series starts with a negotiation rather than a glance across a room. That suits a lead whose difficulty is saying what he wants, because the arrangement gives him practice in stating conditions before he has to state feelings.

The Thai original’s leads, Thomas and Kong, appear in the remake as guests, and both joined the Japanese cast on stage at the advance screening on 5 July 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight. A remake can keep the outline and change the setting and rhythm, and the late-night Japanese format of nine short episodes is one way it does that.

Themes

The Japanese subtitle is a weather forecast. Hare nochi koi follows the standard broadcast formula for a changing sky, clear and then something else, and puts love where the second condition belongs.

The two given names sit in the same vocabulary. Hinata is the ordinary Japanese word for a sunlit patch of ground and Sora is the word for sky, so the forecast in the title doubles as a sentence about the pair of them.

Interesting facts

The two theme songs are divided between the leads' own groups. ONE LOVE ONE HEART, to which Isshin Aihara belongs, performs the opening song Ups & Downs, and DXTEEN, Ayuta Fukuda's group, performs the closing song Our Sky, so each episode opens with one lead's band and ends with the other's.

How it was made

TOKYO MX held an advance screening of the first episode on 5 July 2026 at the International Conference Hall in Tokyo Big Sight, with the Japanese cast on stage alongside Thomas and Kong, the leads of the Thai original, who also appear in the remake as guests.

Ayuta Fukuda said he had played the part with the original held in mind so that newcomers and viewers who already knew the Thai version could both follow it, and Isshin Aihara described balancing that respect against a visual approach suited to a Japanese audience. Kong's own comment was that the result carries a charm particular to Japan rather than being a replica.
