SIZZY

SIZZY

BIOGRAPHY

SIZZY (Thai: ซิซซี่) was a four member Thai girl group based in Bangkok, first presented under the name SISSY. The group was teased on 28 October 2019 and debuted on 5 November 2019 with the single ชักช้า (เอิงเอย) (Loading Love).

The members were Jan Ployshompoo Supasap, Jane Methika Jiranorraphat, Ciize Rutricha Phapakithi and Aye Sarunchana Apisamaimongkol. Two of them hold profiles in this catalogue for their acting work, Jan and Ciize.

Their music is described as Thai pop with R&B, hip hop and rap. The group released through GMMTV Records from 2019 and through Riser Music from 2023, and concluded activity on 16 October 2024. The fandom name was FIZZY.

SIZZY was assembled in November 2019 from four performers who were already working as GMMTV actresses, and the group carried the name SISSY on its first release before taking the SIZZY spelling in August 2020. Five singles appeared between 2019 and 2022, with Jan as leader and lead vocal, Aye as main vocal, Ciize as main dancer and Jane as visual, each also taking rap and dance parts.

In 2023 the group moved with the rest of GMMTV’s music roster to the newly created Riser Music, where they shared a label with LYKN, and the two groups recorded a special track together for GMMTV’s Starlympic event that year. Activities under the SIZZY name concluded on 16 October 2024, with Jan, Aye and Ciize remaining GMMTV artists.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is the group spelled two ways?

It changed. The act was teased and debuted as SISSY in late 2019 and took the SIZZY spelling before releasing its second single in August 2020, so the first release and everything after it carry different names on the same catalogue.

How was the line-up assembled?

Out of an existing cast. All four members were already working as GMMTV actresses when the group was formed in November 2019, so the project brought a screen cast together as a singing group rather than training singers who later moved into acting.

What were the four positions?

Jan as leader and lead vocal, Aye as main vocal, Ciize as main dancer and Jane as visual, with each of them also taking rap and dance parts. The music itself is described as Thai pop with R and B, hip hop and rap.

Why did the label change in 2023?

Because the whole GMMTV music roster moved. The group went from GMMTV Records to the newly created Riser Music, sharing a label with LYKN, and the two recorded a special collaborative track for GMMTV’s Starlympic event that year.

When did the group stop?

On 16 October 2024, just short of five years after the debut single ชักช้า (เอิงเอย) (Loading Love). Five singles appeared between 2019 and 2022, and Jan, Aye and Ciize remained GMMTV artists after activity concluded.

What name did the fandom take?

FIZZY, a play on the group’s own. One award is recorded against the act: Popular Single at the 2020 Zoom Dara Awards, for Love Score, which is a modest return for a five year run.

What had the members done before the group?

Screen work at the same company. They had appeared in GMMTV series including The Gifted, Friend Zone and SOTUS S before the debut, and two of them, Jan and Ciize, hold profiles here for that acting rather than for the music.
