About this archive
Movies are a small but surprisingly varied corner, perfect when you want a whole love story in one sitting. The films here come from Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines, and they carry both BL and GL labels.
The range is lovely. Your Name Engraved Herein is a Taiwanese period piece set as martial law lifts, Uranus2324 is a Thai GL romance with science fiction, and Twilight’s Kiss is a Hong Kong story about two retired men meeting late in life. Some extend a series you may know, like 2gether: The Movie and the Cherry Magic film, while Singapore’s Pure Vanilla films are short and sweet. The Boy Foretold by the Stars brings Filipino comedy.
My tip: plan a movie night with Your Name Engraved Herein and a big box of tissues, then something lighter like Pure Vanilla to recover. A good film night needs one cry and one smile, that is the rule in my house.
