About this archive
Taiwan Mobile runs MyVideo, which puts it in the same bracket as Hami Video elsewhere in this taxonomy: a streaming library attached to a telecoms subscription, competing for Taiwanese households rather than for an international audience.
That competition is the reason a single Taiwanese series can end up on five platforms at once, as the one record here does. Where a Thai production is typically placed with a broadcaster and one or two streamers, a Taiwanese one is commonly licensed in parallel to both telecoms services, to iQIYI, to Viki and to GagaOOLala. The market is small enough that no single service can fund the work alone, so the rights are spread and each buyer takes a share of a modest audience.
For anyone using this site the practical consequence is that the platform field on a Taiwanese record is longer than most and that almost none of those entries help a viewer outside Taiwan. The ones that do are the international services listed beside them.
