About this archive
TV Tokyo is a Japanese commercial broadcaster with an unusually strong record in animation and in late-night drama, which is where work of this kind tends to sit on a national schedule.
On this site it appears on both sides of the same story, carrying a live-action series and, some years later, the animated version of the same material, each held as its own record. That is a useful illustration of how Japanese adaptation works in practice: a broadcaster that backed one version is frequently involved in the next. The broadcast itself is domestic, so international viewers reach these titles through the licensees listed on each title page.
