About this archive
Stage actors know a different craft: long scenes instead of short takes, projection instead of a close up, and a run of shows where nothing can be fixed afterwards. People with this credit have done that work in repertory, commercial theatre, musicals or small independent companies.
The connection to BL and GL keeps growing. Theatre is a common training ground and a common casting pool, especially for supporting and character roles where experience matters. And popular series and novels now get turned into theatre too, from straight plays to musicals and concert shows, sometimes with the screen cast and sometimes with theatre actors.
Here you will find Keita Machida, Adrian Lindayag, Ian Pangilinan, Kodai Asaka, Suzunosuke and Ryoko Takizawa, among others. My tip: take this credit seriously when you read a profile. Stage runs are short and rarely filmed, so a performer with years of theatre behind them can look far newer than they are if you only check the screen credits.
