About this archive
Hosting is a talent of its own, all improvisation, timing and keeping a live show moving. People with this credit work on variety shows, talk programmes, music countdowns, reality formats and the interview segments that come with a new release, often alongside acting.
In BL and GL the hosting side is unusually big. Variety appearances are a normal part of promoting a series, cast members get booked together, and behind the scenes shows, reaction specials and fan meeting segments are made as companion content. Actors often host these, and some build a second career from it.
You will find Off Jumpol, Tay Tawan, New Thitipoom, First Kanaphan, Joong Archen, Kokoy de Santos and Carmen Ngai, among others. My tip: if you wonder why someone with only a few drama credits feels so famous, look here. They might be on TV every week as a host, and a lot of the fun interview material about your favourite shows comes from exactly these programmes.
