What happens

Khom Khlang (ข่มขลัง) is a Thai Girls' Love series produced by Star Hunter Entertainment as a WeTV Original. Its romance sits inside the country's own traditions of magic, curse and ritual protection.

Bulan (Sireethorn Leearamwat) keeps a household built around those traditions. She is Mae Khru Bulan, the title given to a woman who holds and teaches that knowledge, and the series treats her authority as real rather than as superstition to be debunked. Phim (Warangsiri Tanajarusworaphat) is a police officer who arrives at Bulan's door because a case has stopped responding to police work. Someone has told her Bulan is the only person who can help.

Phim's training tells her what counts as evidence, while Bulan's world runs on different rules. The attraction that grows between them is bound up with the same problem: whether Phim can accept a kind of truth her job has no procedure for. The series keeps its central problem small and personal, a single case, two women and one household, with a credited cast limited to the two leads and two supporting roles.

The season runs four episodes, directed by Phuwadol Naosopha and adapted from a web novel by Luxurious.W. Kamollak Sangsubsin plays Lom and Anunta Teavirat plays Ratha. Episodes aired weekly on Mondays from 7 to 28 September 2026, with an uncut version exclusive to WeTV.

Khom Khlang casts a Miss International winner as the keeper of a magic tradition and pairs her with a police officer.

Sireethorn Leearamwat won Miss International in Tokyo on 12 November 2019, the first Thai woman to take the title, and she is a qualified pharmacist. In this series she plays Mae Khru Bulan, a woman who holds and teaches knowledge of magic and ritual protection, so the role asks her to carry authority rather than vulnerability.

Around the two leads, Kamollak Sangsubsin and Anunta Teavirat are both members of COSMOS, Star Hunter Entertainment's girl group, which ties the series to the label's music roster.

The season is four weekly episodes on WeTV, 7 to 28 September 2026, so the story has no mid-season stretch to settle into and arrives already knowing its own shape.

The release is compact: four Mondays at 20:00 on WeTV, nine weeks after filming opened on 4 July, with an uncut edition available only on the platform. A four-episode season cannot carry a long mystery, so the story's two halves, the case and the relationship, have to move together from the first scene.

The premise has a cousin in Petrichor, where a police captain is paired with a forensic doctor whose method differs from hers. There the difference is evidence against instinct across ten episodes of 67 minutes; here it is police procedure against ritual knowledge, compressed into four episodes.

More than two years of development, from the choice of script through to casting, preceded that nine-week run from first day of filming to premiere, and the production was made with the support of the Department of Cultural Promotion of Thailand's Ministry of Culture. The series suits viewers who like Girls' Love stories with folklore at their centre and who prefer a short, complete season.

Themes

Both women hold an office rather than simply a job, and that is where the friction sits. A police officer is licensed by the state, and her procedures decide which facts are allowed to matter. A Mae Khru is licensed by a tradition to decide what counts as protection. Each is an authority inside her own system, and neither system recognises the other's credentials. The meeting between Phim and Bulan is therefore a negotiation between two jurisdictions rather than a contest between a believer and a sceptic.

What the two have in common is the purpose. Investigation and ritual are both practices aimed at keeping people from harm, whether the harm has already landed or is still coming. Phim and Bulan are in the same line of work and disagree only about method, which is a sharper arrangement than reason against faith, because it leaves each of them something to recognise in the other.

Bulan's title carries the word for teacher, and that sets the terms of the whole encounter. Whatever Phim ends up accepting, she will have had to be taught it by the person she arrived to question.

Interesting facts

Star Hunter Entertainment took the series out of doors ahead of the premiere. From 17 July 2026 the company ran a three-month Bangkok BTS Skytrain campaign for the show, announcing it on its own channels and inviting commuters to photograph the artwork at the stations. Placing a Girls' Love title across a mass transit network for a full quarter is a scale of promotion the genre has not often been given in Thailand.

How it was made

Star Hunter Entertainment has described a development period of more than two years on the project, running from the selection of the script through to casting. The company frames Phuwadol Naosopha's brief as bringing the occult material to the screen in a register that stays contemporary while remaining culturally accurate.

The production carries institutional backing unusual for the genre. It was made with the support of the Department of Cultural Promotion, part of Thailand's Ministry of Culture, and Star Hunter presents the series as a vehicle for carrying Thai heritage and belief to viewers outside the country. Filming opened on 4 July 2026, a date the company announced on its own channels ahead of the shoot.
