This site spends most of its time on leads, directors and studios, and a page like this one is a useful corrective. Fifteen years of work, thirteen credits, and not one of them a starring role. A tea picker in an art film. The landlord’s mother in a horror anthology. An elder in a Taiwanese horror comedy. A grandmother in a streaming drama about people who clean up after deaths. And now a grandmother in a BL series, in all thirteen episodes.

That last detail is worth sitting with. Thirteen out of thirteen is not a cameo. Whatever the family elder does in this story, the production wanted the character present throughout, and it hired someone who has spent a decade and a half being exactly that presence in Taiwanese screen fiction.

The broader point is one we keep arriving at from different directions. We have found queer drama being scored by horror composers in Bangkok, written by lakorn writers for Channel 3, produced by a Japanese executive filling a quarterly slot, and directed by an animator whose other credit is one episode of SPY x FAMILY. Here it is from the acting side. BL is not a sealed world with its own workforce. It draws on the same character actors as everything else the country makes, which is precisely how a genre stops being a niche: not through a manifesto, but through casting directors calling the people they always call.

There is a smaller observation too, about how careers like this one look in a database. Thirteen credits over fifteen years, mostly one or two episodes each, no biography, no birth date, no social accounts, several different romanisations of the same name. Public film databases are built around people who are the subject of press coverage. Everyone else appears as a character name in a cast list. That is a large part of why our low content pages are so often the supporting cast, and it is a reason to write them carefully rather than to skip them.
