What happens

Khemjira Forever (เขมจิราต้องรอดตลอดกาล) is the Thai BL follow-up to the supernatural romance Khemjira. It brings back Khem, the young man whose life was shaped by a family curse, and Peem, the shaman whose fate turned out to be tied to his.

If you need the refresher, here is where it all began. In Khem's family, sons were said to be fated to die young. To protect him, his mother gave him a girl's name, Khemjira, chosen for its meaning of being kept safe forever. For years that fragile shield was all he had. When the danger came closer, his best friend Jet took him to Ubon Ratchathani to find Peem, a reluctant shaman whose help came with secrets of its own.

Picture this: you survived a family curse and a vengeful spirit, and now the universe would like a word about the future. The Thai title of the special adds the word forever to the original title, and that one word tells you where its attention lies.

Khem and Peem return together with Jet and Charn, the friends who stood with them through the first series. The new chapter asks what forever looks like for two people whose bond was forged against destiny itself, and whether the shadows have truly finished with them.

From must survive to forever

The original series was called เขมจิราต้องรอด, roughly Khemjira must survive. The special adds ตลอดกาล, forever. That is a lovely piece of sequel design. The first story was about getting through a deadline. This one is about what comes after you have beaten it, and the stakes shift from survival to permanence.

It is also a neat answer to the name at the centre of everything. Khem's girl's name was given to keep him safe forever. A follow-up called Forever turns that protective wish into the subject of the story.

Four episodes of after the curse

Khemjira Forever is a special of four episodes, a compact format that suits a return visit. Short sequels tend to work best when they focus on the relationship the audience already cares about, and the official trailer lines up the same four characters: Khem, Peem, Jet and Charn.

Keng Harit Buayoi returns as Peem and Namping Napatsakorn Pingmuang as Khem, with FirstOne Wannakorn Reungrat as Jet and Tle Matimun Sreeboonrueang as Charn. The trailer came from the Mandee Channel on YouTube, the studio label behind the series.

A premiere on Halloween night

The special premieres on Saturday 31 October 2026, the night of Halloween, on One31, with the uncut version exclusive to iQIYI. For a supernatural romance about curses and spirits, that is a premiere date with a sense of humour, and a very good excuse to dim the lights.

Nothing has aired yet as I write, so this review is based on the official trailer, the first series and what has been announced. I will hold the score until I know whether forever really holds.

If you loved the original, this is a chance to spend a little more time with Khem and Peem. If you are new, start with the first series, which aired on One31 and iQIYI in 2025, then come back for the forever part. The four characters in the trailer are the same four you will have spent a whole season with, and the trailer is pitched at viewers who already know what they went through together.
