About this archive
Keyboards and synthesisers are this credit’s territory, and in practice the role extends into programming and sound design, which is to say into deciding what a recording sounds like rather than only what is played on it.
That matters for soundtrack work, where a theme has to exist in several forms at once: a vocal single, an instrumental bed that can run under dialogue, a shorter cut for the titles and an arrangement that survives being played live. People listed here usually hold other credits on this site as well, in composition, production or performance, because the studio side of this industry is worked by a small number of people wearing several hats.
