Song Kang

Song Kang (Korean: 송강; born 23 April 1994 in Suwon, Gyeonggi) is a South Korean actor signed to Namoo Actors, the agency he first appeared under in December 2016.

His first work on screen was in music videos, for The Ade’s Sweet Summer Night and Suran’s Love Story, both in 2017. That same year he made his acting debut with a supporting part in The Liar and His Lover, playing Baek Jin-woo, and followed it with Kim Woo-joo in the family drama Man in the Kitchen. In 2018 he moved into film with Beautiful Vampire, released in July, where he played Lee So-nyeon. From February to October 2018 he also hosted SBS’s music programme Inkigayo and was a fixed cast member of the variety show Village Survival, the Eight, which together brought him a nomination for the Rookie Award at that year’s SBS Entertainment Awards.

In 2019 he took a cameo as a deliveryman in Touch Your Heart and played Luka, assistant to Jung Kyung-ho’s character, in tvN’s When the Devil Calls Your Name. His first lead arrived the same year with the Netflix original Love Alarm, in which he plays Hwang Sun-oh, a high school student who falls for the character played by Kim So-hyun. A second season followed in 2021.

Sweet Home came in 2020, a Netflix horror series that ran for three seasons to 2024. Song Kang plays Cha Hyun-su, a withdrawn high school boy who fights to survive alongside his neighbours in an apartment building as residents turn into monsters. In 2021 came the second season of Love Alarm, Navillera and Nevertheless. In Navillera, tvN’s adaptation of a webtoon, he is Lee Chae-rok, a young ballet student who works part-time jobs to pay his way. In JTBC’s Nevertheless he is Park Jae-eon, opposite Han So-hee.

Forecasting Love and Weather came in 2022, on JTBC, with Song Kang as Lee Shi-woo opposite Park Min-young. My Demon ran on SBS across 2023 and 2024, and he plays Jeong Gu-won opposite Kim You-jung. Every calendar year from 2019 to 2023 carried at least one new series or season with him in it, and that run earned him the nickname “Son of Netflix”, since most of those titles streamed there. In 2021 he was nominated for Best New Actor, Television at the Baeksang Arts Awards, and in 2023 My Demon won him both a Top Excellence Award for an actor in a romance or comedy miniseries and a Best Couple award at the SBS Drama Awards.

He enlisted for military service on 2 April 2024 and was discharged on 1 October 2025.

In tvN’s 2026 music drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas (포핸즈) he plays Kang Bi-oh, a piano prodigy already discussed as a contender for the biggest international competitions, across all twelve episodes. The series is set at Korea Arts High School and follows three young musicians through friendship, rivalry and growth. Lee Jun-young plays the pianist Choi Jeong-yo and Jang Gyu-ri plays the viola student Hong Jae-in. Park Hyeon-seok directs from a script by Shin Yi-won. It premiered on 29 August 2026 and airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 21:10.
