Song Kang
BIOGRAPHY
Song Kang (Korean: 송강; born 23 April 1994 in Suwon, Gyeonggi) is a South Korean actor signed to Namoo Actors, the agency he first appeared under in December 2016.
He started in music videos, appearing in The Ade’s Sweet Summer Night and Suran’s Love Story in 2017, and made his acting debut the same year in a supporting part in The Liar and His Lover. His film debut followed in 2018 with Beautiful Vampire, and through 2018 he also hosted SBS’s music programme Inkigayo from February to October.
The run that made his name began with Love Alarm in 2019, where he took his first lead, and continued with Sweet Home as Cha Hyun-su in 2020, the second season of Love Alarm and Navillera and Nevertheless in 2021, Forecasting Love and Weather in 2022 and My Demon across 2023 and 2024. Because most of that work went out on Netflix, Korean press took to calling him the “Son of Netflix”.
He enlisted for his military service on 2 April 2024 and was discharged on 1 October 2025.
In tvN’s 2026 music drama Four Hands, Two Sonatas (포핸즈) he plays Kang Bi-oh, a piano prodigy already discussed as a contender for the biggest international competitions, across all twelve episodes.

Mandatory service is the single largest structural fact in a South Korean male performer’s career, and no other industry on this site has anything like it. It arrives at whatever point the law says rather than at a convenient one, it removes somebody for around eighteen months, and everything shot before it keeps coming out while the person is unreachable. Coming back means re-entering a market that moved on without you.
His case is unusually visible because so much of his work went out on one platform. Korean press took to calling him the son of Netflix, and a filmography that concentrated there also concentrated the risk, since the audience that knew him knew him from a single place.
The 2026 series is his return, and it is the only one of his titles that has a record on this site.
