BIOGRAPHY

Ratchanon Khajitpornphun (รัชนนท์ ขจิตพรพันธ์), who works as LaFolk (ลาโฟล์ค), is a Thai actor whose entire career so far is one role, and it is a lead.

He plays Mai in Lost to Light (อยากจะดังหรือยังนะ), the 2026 Boys’ Love series produced by Ultimate Troop, across all five episodes. It aired on GMM 25 on Saturdays from 20 June to 18 July 2026, with an uncut version released on iQIYI and an edited version on Ultimate Troop’s own YouTube channel.

The series is set inside the Thai pop business. Jeng, played by Phemadech Vattanapati, is trying to hold a collapsing T-POP group together by recruiting replacements for the members who have walked out. Mai is one of the people who turns up: a guitarist who is concealing both his real identity and a reason for being there. A second thread follows Boss Sithian, who owns the label, and his former boyfriend Bailiu, played by Thakrit Patthanaworakit and Prosan Chaivirach.

It was written by Zaanook Jukkroww Nipitpon Muangsinun and directed by Tonnam Piamchon Damrongsunthornchai, who also takes a special appearance in it. Ultimate Troop announced the project in February 2026 as part of that year’s slate, and the official trailer went out on their YouTube channel on 5 June.

BLGLFlix editorial view

Lost to Light is a Boys’ Love series about the Thai pop industry, made by an agency, starring newcomers it is launching. That is a tighter loop than it first looks. The characters are performers being assembled into a group by someone who needs the group to survive; the actors are performers being assembled into a cast by a company that needs the show to work. Neither he nor his co-lead had a screen credit before this. The series is, among other things, a five-episode advertisement for the two people at the centre of it, and it is honest enough about the business it depicts that this does not feel cynical.

The casting shape is worth noting because it turns up twice in the same year on opposite sides of Asia. Ultimate Troop put two complete newcomers in front and filled the recurring cast with established Thai names including Mean Phiravich Attachitsataporn and Gunsmile Chanagun Arpornsutinan. Ash, the Hong Kong BL that premiered in August, does the same thing: three newcomers at the centre, veteran screen actors in support. Both productions are betting on unknowns while paying for a floor underneath them, which is not how BL is usually staffed anywhere.

Five episodes is short for the flagship of an agency’s annual slate. It went out weekly on GMM 25, the free-to-air channel most associated with GMMTV’s own BL output, which means an independent camp’s series ran in the same broadcast space as the country’s dominant BL producer. We do not know the commercial arrangement behind that and are not going to guess at it, but the fact of it says something about how much room the format now has on Thai television.

His name is unusually unstable across sources, and we would rather explain that than pick one silently. TMDB records him as LaFolk in one place and LlaFolk in another. His Instagram handle uses the doubled L. English Wikipedia calls him simply Folk. This page uses LaFolk because that is the form TMDB’s primary name field gives, and lists the alternatives here so a reader searching for either can find him.

Two data problems with our main source, stated so nobody repeats them. TMDB records no production company at all for Lost to Light, which is how Ultimate Troop nearly went unmentioned; the credit comes from Wikipedia. And TMDB’s synopsis says everyone quits the group “except Jeng, who chooses to stay by the stubborn Boss Sithian”, which reads as if Jeng and Sithian are the pairing. They are not. Jeng is paired with Mai, and Sithian with Bailiu. A one-sentence synopsis got the central relationships of a romance series wrong, and anyone building a cast list from it would build the wrong one.

TRIVIA

He debuted straight into a lead. Neither he nor Phemadech Vattanapati, the other half of the central pairing, had any screen credit before Lost to Light.

His character is a musician in a series about musicians. Mai joins the group as a guitarist, which means the part carries the show’s music as well as its central secret.

His name is spelled three ways across sources: LaFolk on TMDB’s main name field, LlaFolk in its alternate names, and Folk on English Wikipedia. His Instagram handle, llafolk_, uses the doubled L.

Lost to Light exists in two cuts. The broadcast version went out on GMM 25, an uncut version was released on iQIYI, and an edited version on Ultimate Troop’s YouTube channel.

The director, Tonnam Piamchon Damrongsunthornchai, also appears in the series in a special appearance.

The recurring cast includes established Thai performers, among them Mean Phiravich Attachitsataporn and Gunsmile Chanagun Arpornsutinan, supporting a pair of first-time leads.

The series is built around T-POP, the Thai pop industry, which makes it one of relatively few BL series whose subject is the entertainment business its own actors were entering.

At five episodes it is short for a company’s flagship annual project. Most Thai BL series of comparable ambition run eight to twelve.
