Lost to Light
SYNOPSIS
Inside a music label on the brink of collapse, an idol group that once dreamed of arenas has stalled out at a few thousand views a video. The only work on offer is humiliating, mascot suits, children's songs at kindergarten shows, and the members quit one by one until only Jeng (Dome Phemadech Vattanapati) is still standing beside the group. Handed the job of rebuilding a team out of nothing, he assembles an oddball lineup from whoever will say yes: a long-tail-boat commentator turned rapper, a former national cover-dance champion now teaching aerobics to grandmothers, and a rescue volunteer with a voice too soothing to waste on radio calls.
Then comes the condition attached to keeping the group alive at all. Jeng has to take in Mai (LaFolk Ratchanon Khajitpornphun), the artsy, foul-mouthed singer he had a shouting match with the night before, and find room for him in a lineup that barely holds together as it is. What Jeng does not know is that Mai is the younger brother of the label's chairman, and that he signed on with a private mission of his own: to win Jeng over. Running alongside that, label boss Sithian (Aomsatin Thakrit Phatthanaworakit) is pushed into the part of his past he has spent years avoiding, because survival now means asking a favour of Bailiu (Ford Posan Chaivirach), his high-school ex and today the CEO of the far more successful rival label.
Lost to Light is a 2026 Thai boys' love and T-POP romantic comedy from GMM25, produced by UltimateTroop Official with Excellent Film and co-directed by Tonnam Piamchon (Piamchon Damrongsunthornchai) and Snook Nipitpon (Nipitpon Muangsinun). Its five-episode run premiered on June 20, 2026, airing Saturdays at 21:30 on GMM25, with the broadcast version also posted to the UltimateTroop Official YouTube channel and an extended streaming edition on iQIYI and iQ.com; a bonus special episode followed on August 2, 2026. Casting members of the real T-POP group UltimateTroop as fictional struggling idols gives the comedy a second layer it never has to explain, and the original songs, with an official soundtrack performed by Offroad Kantapon of OPEN LABEL, carry the feelings the characters are too proud to say out loud. What holds it together is the underdog premise itself: a story about chasing a dream in the last minutes before the lights go out, played for laughs without ever quite dismissing the fear underneath.
