Found Family

Found family covers stories in which the people who end up mattering are gathered rather than inherited. The two records under it could hardly be less alike in tone. One is a Thai crime comedy from GMMTV, twelve episodes built around a killing-for-hire plot that throws two established screen pairings together and turns a working arrangement into something closer to a household. The other is a Chinese web series about a seventeen-year-old who comes home to a small town carrying a diagnosis he has told nobody about, and who is drawn into the life around a fish-noodle shop he had meant to keep at a distance. In both, the attachment is chosen, and the stakes come from how easily it could be lost.
