Before the drama, there was the book. This page gathers the people who wrote the original novel, web novel or light novel behind a series, not the script made from it. Plenty of these stories first appeared chapter by chapter on a web platform, found readers there, and only later reached print or a screen deal.
How close an author stays to the adaptation varies a lot. Some are consulted, some write or co adapt the script, and some sell the rights and watch from the sofa like the rest of us. Pen names are very common here, and several authors also write audio drama scripts or comic scenarios.
