BIOGRAPHY

First Kanaphan Puitrakul (Thai: เฟิร์ส คณพันธ์ ปุ้ยตระกูล), born September 3, 1998 in Bangkok, Thailand, is a Thai actor, singer, and television host signed to GMMTV. He is the male lead in Thai BL dramas including The Eclipse (2022), Only Friends (2023), and The Heart Killers (2024-2025), and the male half of the FirstKhao acting pair with Khaotung Thanawat Ratanakitpaisan.

First began his entertainment career in 2016 when he was selected from a pool of 100 students for the lead role in the Children’s Day short film The Assassin. In 2017, he placed fourth in the Cool Man Good Man modeling competition and appeared in a KA Cosmetics lip balm television advertisement with Up Poompat Iam-samang. He officially joined GMMTV in 2018 and made his television debut in Wake Up Ladies: The Series as Ryu the same year.

First completed his secondary education at Suankularb Wittayalai School in Bangkok. In 2021, he graduated from the College of Social Communication Innovation at Srinakharinwirot University with a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Business Management. His on-screen career has included supporting and leading roles in Wolf (2019), Blacklist (2019), The Shipper (2020), Wake Up Ladies: Very Complicated (2020), Not Me (2021), F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021), and Astrophile (2022).

First’s breakthrough as a BL lead came in 2022 with The Eclipse, where he played Akk opposite Khaotung’s Ayan. The series launched the FirstKhao pair. The duo went on to lead Only Friends (2023) as Sand and Ray, The Heart Killers (2024-2025) as Kant Pattanawat and Bison Aechitpol, and several other GMMTV productions. First also held a supporting role in Moonlight Chicken (2023) as Alan.

Beyond acting, First performs OSTs. His vocal discography includes My Fuel (เชื้อเพลิง), the solo OST for The Heart Killers (2025), as well as Never Back Down with Khaotung, Joong, and Dunk, and The Moon Represents My Heart for Moonlight Chicken. He has been the main host of the GMM25 variety show School Rangers since 2022, and previously co-hosted Toe Laew (2018-2020).

The Host Who Became a Leading Man

If you only know First as the main host of School Rangers, his dramas will surprise you. He is great fun to watch in roles wrapped in a mystery or a mission: Akk in the mystery drama The Eclipse, the bar singer Sand in Only Friends, and the tattoo artist turned police informant Kant Pattanawat in The Heart Killers. He sings too, so watch out for the moments when his OST work and his characters overlap, like his solo track My Fuel for The Heart Killers.

Where to Start With First

Begin with The Eclipse (2022). It was his first BL lead, it started the FirstKhao pairing with Khaotung Thanawat Ratanakitpaisan, and it won the Thailand Digital Awards’ Best Y Series Award. From there, Only Friends (2023) pairs them again as Sand and Ray, one of the series’ four main couples, and The Heart Killers turns them loose in a crime romance. For a lovely supporting turn, try him as Alan in Moonlight Chicken (2023), where he also sings The Moon Represents My Heart.

FirstKhao, Always

Khaotung is his signature partner across The Eclipse, Only Friends, The Heart Killers and more, and the pair has collected CBLO Awards for BL Couple of the Year, BL Popularity and Most Supportive BL Fandom. Fun bonus for longtime fans: back in 2017, before GMMTV, First shared a KA Cosmetics lip balm commercial with Up Poompat Iam-samang.
