BIOGRAPHY
Lee Lee-zen (Chinese: 李李仁, Li Li-jen; born January 6, 1974 in Taipei) is a Taiwanese actor, singer and television host. He graduated from Shih Hsin Senior High School in Taipei and has been active in the industry since 1997, working in Mandarin and Taiwanese Hokkien.
He built his name in long-form Taiwanese television, most durably as Wang Sheng-chih in the marathon SET drama The Unforgettable Memory (2004) and its 2009 sequel, and went on to costume and period work including The Empress of China (2014) as Li Chengqian. He won Best Supporting Actor in a Television Series at the Golden Bell Awards in 2013 for Home, and has been nominated in both acting and hosting categories across his career. Later television work includes My Dear Boy (2017), The Kidnappers (2019), Light the Night (2021) as Piao-ke, The Summer Temple Fair (2021), Holi-Day (2025) and Million-Follower Detective (2026).
His film credits include Night Market Hero (2011), Packages from Daddy (2016), Sisterhood (2017), Nina Wu (2019) as Mark, A Leg (2020) as Dr. Gao, Abyssal Spider (2020), Miss Andy (2021), The Falls (2021), You Are On My Mind (2022), The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon (2023) as Chen Hui, The Black Box (2023) as Hank, Marching Boys (2025) as Chiang Wei-chuan and 96 Minutes (2025). In 2026 he joined the Taiwanese BL series Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars as Old He, appearing in all twelve episodes.
In Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars his Old He belongs to the supporting group that also holds Darren Chiu as Uncle Hua and Tsao Lan as Angela. The fantasy romance premiered on Thursday, March 26, 2026 on LINE TV in Taiwan, and its director, Ray Jiang, is the same filmmaker who directed Marching Boys, where Lee plays Chiang Wei-chuan. The story follows He Xiang-yong, who loses his job in Taipei, goes back to an island hometown and wishes not to be recognised, and then finds that the wish has been granted. Jed Chung plays the adult Xiang-yong and Chu Meng-hsuan plays Chen Hao-wei.
A veteran of Taiwanese television and film played Old He in a twelve-episode BL series.
His 2013 Golden Bell for Home and his long run in The Unforgettable Memory came well before Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars, which arrived in 2026.
The series streamed on GagaOOLala, Viki, iQIYI and YouTube.
The shape of his career shifts from television to film over time. The 2004 drama and its 2009 sequel sit at the start of the list, and the Golden Bell in 2013 and The Empress of China in 2014 follow. From 2019 the film titles multiply: Nina Wu, A Leg and Abyssal Spider in 2019 and 2020, then The Pig, the Snake and the Pigeon and The Black Box in 2023. His 2025 film Marching Boys, as Chiang Wei-chuan, shares a year with Holi-Day, and the 2026 BL series arrived in the same year as Million-Follower Detective. In both years a film or series in another genre stands beside the work he did in that BL production.
In my view, the most useful way into his work is through the drama behind his Golden Bell, because it is the work that earned him the award and gives a fixed point from which to read everything that followed. I would watch Home first and then turn to the 2026 series, to see how a performer with that history handles a supporting part.
