Peter Tuinstra

Peter Tuinstra, born July 20, 1973 in the United States, is a Thai-based linguist, English teacher, and actor, and the founder of Thaitranslated, a translation service. Born in America, he moved to Thailand in 2000 and has since built a career across language education and on-screen work.

Peter is recognized in Thai television for his supporting and character roles, often portraying foreign or English-speaking characters. In the 2024-2025 GMMTV dual-couple BL crime comedy The Heart Killers, he plays Chris, a role within the ensemble narrative led by the FirstKhao and JoongDunk pairs.

His full name is Peter Nicholas Tuinstra. During his military service he was stationed at a base in Thailand, where he became fluent in speaking, reading and writing Thai while teaching English, and he then added modelling and acting to that work. His first Thai television drama was Poo Ying Khon Nun Chue Boonrawd in 2000, where he played Bob in a lead role, and in the years since he has appeared in around fifty Thai dramas.

Many of those roles place a foreign character in a Thai story. He played John Davidson in Plerng Payu (2005), Duncan in The Seven Fighters (2010) and Jeff across thirty episodes of Mr. Baan Na (2013). In 2015 he took Michael in the thirty-episode Bussaba Tah Rue, and in 2017 he played Mr. Hass in Plerng Pranang and Rang in Nang Khaen, each a twenty-six-episode series. In 2018 he appeared as Simon de la Loubere in Love Destiny and as Commander James in Kom Faek.

The early 2020s brought Khun Kevin in the twenty-eight-episode The Gifted Detective (2020), Jim Geller in The Seawave (2020), Robert in The Rural Angel (2021) and Michael in Switch On (2021). He went on as Michael in The War of Flowers (2022), Captain Ames in Sassy Matchmaker (2023), Jeffrey in Love Hurts (2023) and Paul in the twenty-two-episode Blondie in an Ancient Time (2024). He guest starred as Charles in OMG! Vampire (2024) and as Chad Chatchai Cooper in Hide & Sis (2025), and in 2026 he plays King Arthur De Lena in The Air.
