Afu Narongsak Sribandasakwatcharakorn

BIOGRAPHY

Afu Narongsak Sribandasakwatcharakorn (Thai: เอฟู ณรงค์ศักดิ์ ศรีบรรฎาศักดิ์วัชรากรณ์; birth date not publicly disclosed) is a Thai music producer, composer, songwriter and arranger, and the founder of the Bangkok label DEMOLAB. He is one of the two credited composers on GMMTV’s Cherry Magic (2023), alongside Noth Getsunova, and has been called “Mr. T-Pop” in the Thai press for his part in shaping the sound of Thai teen pop.

His reputation was built at Kamikaze, the RS Public Company Limited pop imprint launched in 2007. English Wikipedia’s account of the label’s founding credits “Afu”, then a band producer at RS, with conceiving the project, he had been listening to boy-band pop and to the Japanese idol group Morning Musume, and took the idea of a large multi-member pop act to his supervisor Sudhipong Vatanajang, who managed the label at the outset. DEMOLAB’s own Facebook page later published a compilation of 78 songs Afu wrote and produced for Kamikaze across the years 2550-2559 in the Thai calendar, that is 2007 to 2016.

He worked through the Kamikaze years in partnership with the lyricist Gorp Thani Wongniwatkhajorn of the band Postcard, producing for acts including Faye Fang Kaew, Waii and Chilly White Shock. He later took an executive post at Mono Music, recruited specifically to push that label into the teen market. On 1 October 2016 he opened DEMOLAB, described on its own channels as a “Homemade Size S” label working in what it calls Indy Eazy Pop; Kaew Jarinya of Faye Fang Kaew released the label’s early single “ดีออก (Closer)” under his production.

In 2019, after a five-year gap in their collaboration, he and Gorp reunited on รักติดไซเรน (My Ambulance), the theme from the GMM 25 series My Ambulance. Afu wrote the melody and arrangement, Gorp the lyrics, and Praewa Nichaphat Chatchaipholrat and Ice Paris Intarakomalyasut sang it for Nadao Music. It became one of the defining Thai pop hits of the decade and is the record most often cited as the bridge between the Kamikaze era and the current T-pop wave.

He carried the same partnership into Cherry Magic: แอบตะโกน (Loudest Love), the series’ main-couple theme sung by Tay Tawan Vihokratana and New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun for GMMTV Records, is credited to Afu for melody and arrangement and to Gorp for lyrics. His screen-scoring credits also include Cooking Crush (2023), City of Stars and Peaceful Property (2024), Me and Thee, Gelboys, Diva, la Vie and the film Beauty and the Beat (2025), and Love Destiny (2026).

MUSIC CAREER

Afu Narongsak Sribandasakwatcharakorn began as a band producer inside RS Public Company Limited, and it was from that seat that he pitched the idea which became Kamikaze, RS’s teen-pop imprint, launched in 2007 under Sudhipong Vatanajang. Across the label’s decade he wrote and produced a very large share of its catalogue: DEMOLAB’s own Facebook page later posted an “Afu’s Portfolio” compilation of 78 Kamikaze songs he wrote and produced, dated 2550-2559 in the Thai calendar, 2007 to 2016. His acts included Faye Fang Kaew, Waii and Chilly White Shock, and he worked throughout in partnership with the lyricist Gorp Thani Wongniwatkhajorn of Postcard. Thai music writing credits him, with Gorp, as one of the two producers who defined the Kamikaze sound, and a day magazine has referred to him as “Mr. T-Pop”.

He left for an executive post at Mono Music, brought in to take that label into the teen market, and then set up on his own: DEMOLAB opened on 1 October 2016, a self-described “Homemade Size S” label working in a register it labels Indy Eazy Pop. Kaew Jarinya of Faye Fang Kaew released “ดีออก (Closer)” through it, and the roster has since taken in Gibsy Wanida, DAISY DAISY and New Chayapak. In 2019 he and Gorp reunited after five years apart on รักติดไซเรน (My Ambulance) for Nadao Music, Afu on melody and arrangement, Gorp on lyrics, Praewa Nichaphat and Ice Paris singing, the theme from the GMM 25 series My Ambulance and one of the largest Thai pop hits of the decade. The same partnership produced แอบตะโกน (Loudest Love), the Cherry Magic main-couple theme, for GMMTV Records in 2023, and เลิกกั๊กแล้วรักก่อน (RED FLAG) for Gelboys in 2025. Alongside the songs he now scores GMMTV series and films outright, from Cooking Crush (2023) to Love Destiny (2026).

TRIVIA

  • His label is DEMOLAB, not “DeboLab”. The label’s own first-party channels spell it DEMOLAB, YouTube handle @DEMOLABTHAI and Facebook page @DemoLabThai, and the “DeboLab” form that circulates in drama databases and TMDB biography text is a transcription error. BLGLFLIX has corrected it site-wide on this record.

  • He was recruited to an executive post at Mono Music, reported by Sanook Music and MThai Music under headlines about the label pushing into the teen market. Neither report’s date could be pinned down in this pass.
  • He composed the melody and arrangement of รักติดไซเรน (My Ambulance), the 2019 theme from the GMM 25 series My Ambulance, sung by Praewa Nichaphat Chatchaipholrat and Ice Paris Intarakomalyasut for Nadao Music; Gorp wrote the lyrics. It was their first collaboration in five years.

DEMOLAB. The label’s own channels use that spelling, YouTube @DEMOLABTHAI and Facebook @DemoLabThai, and the “DeboLab” form found in some drama databases and in TMDB’s biography text for him is a transcription error.

What is DEMOLAB?

A small Bangkok label Afu opened on 1 October 2016. It describes itself as a “Homemade Size S” label working in what it calls Indy Eazy Pop. Kaew Jarinya of Faye Fang Kaew released “ดีออก (Closer)” through it, and its roster has since included Gibsy Wanida, DAISY DAISY and New Chayapak.

Did Afu compose the music for Cherry Magic Thailand?

Yes, jointly with Noth Getsunova. Afu is also specifically credited for the melody and arrangement of the series’ main-couple theme, แอบตะโกน (Loudest Love), sung by Tay Tawan Vihokratana and New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun for GMMTV Records.

What was Afu's role at Kamikaze?

He was the producer who conceived it. English Wikipedia’s account of the label’s founding credits “Afu”, then a band producer at RS, with taking the idea of a large multi-member pop act, drawn from boy-band pop and the Japanese group Morning Musume, to his supervisor Sudhipong Vatanajang. Kamikaze launched in 2007 under RS Public Company Limited.

How many songs did Afu write for Kamikaze?

Seventy-eight, according to an “Afu’s Portfolio” compilation his own label published on its Facebook page, covering 2550-2559 in the Thai calendar, 2007 to 2016.

Did Afu write My Ambulance?

Yes, the song. รักติดไซเรน (My Ambulance), the 2019 theme from the GMM 25 series My Ambulance, credits him for melody and arrangement and Gorp Thani Wongniwatkhajorn for lyrics. Praewa Nichaphat Chatchaipholrat and Ice Paris Intarakomalyasut sang it for Nadao Music. It was the pair’s first collaboration in five years and one of the largest Thai pop hits of the decade.

Why is Afu called Mr. T-Pop?

The nickname appears in a day magazine’s September 2019 joint interview with him and Gorp, framed around his role in shaping the sound of Thai teen pop across the Kamikaze years and then again with My Ambulance.

Who is Gorp, and why do they always work together?

Gorp Thani Wongniwatkhajorn is a lyricist and a member of the band Postcard. He and Afu have been writing together since the Kamikaze years, Afu on melody, arrangement and production, Gorp on words, and the same split appears on My Ambulance and on Cherry Magic’s Loudest Love.

Did Afu work at Mono Music?

Yes. He was recruited to an executive post there, reported by Sanook Music and MThai Music under headlines about the label pushing into the teen music market. It sits between his Kamikaze years and the founding of DEMOLAB; neither report’s exact date could be confirmed.

How old is Afu Narongsak Sribandasakwatcharakorn?

His age is not publicly known. TMDB publishes no birth date for him and no other source supplies one.

What series and films has Afu scored?

His screen credits include Cherry Magic and Cooking Crush (2023), City of Stars and Peaceful Property (2024), Me and Thee, Gelboys, Diva, la Vie and the film Beauty and the Beat (2025), and Love Destiny (2026).

Has Afu worked with the Cherry Magic director again?

Yes. He scored Me and Thee (2025), directed by Cherry Magic’s director X Nuttapong Mongkolsawas.

Why does his name look so long?
