Afu Narongsak Sribandasakwatcharakorn
BIOGRAPHY
Afu Narongsak Sribandasakwatcharakorn (Thai: เอฟู ณรงค์ศักดิ์ ศรีบรรฎาศักดิ์วัชรากรณ์; birth date not publicly disclosed) is a Thai music producer, composer, songwriter and arranger, and the founder of the Bangkok label DEMOLAB. He is one of the two credited composers on GMMTV’s Cherry Magic (2023), alongside Noth Getsunova, and has been called “Mr. T-Pop” in the Thai press for his part in shaping the sound of Thai teen pop.
His reputation was built at Kamikaze, the RS Public Company Limited pop imprint launched in 2007. English Wikipedia’s account of the label’s founding credits “Afu”, then a band producer at RS, with conceiving the project, he had been listening to boy-band pop and to the Japanese idol group Morning Musume, and took the idea of a large multi-member pop act to his supervisor Sudhipong Vatanajang, who managed the label at the outset. DEMOLAB’s own Facebook page later published a compilation of 78 songs Afu wrote and produced for Kamikaze across the years 2550-2559 in the Thai calendar, that is 2007 to 2016.
He worked through the Kamikaze years in partnership with the lyricist Gorp Thani Wongniwatkhajorn of the band Postcard, producing for acts including Faye Fang Kaew, Waii and Chilly White Shock. He later took an executive post at Mono Music, recruited specifically to push that label into the teen market. On 1 October 2016 he opened DEMOLAB, described on its own channels as a “Homemade Size S” label working in what it calls Indy Eazy Pop; Kaew Jarinya of Faye Fang Kaew released the label’s early single “ดีออก (Closer)” under his production.
In 2019, after a five-year gap in their collaboration, he and Gorp reunited on รักติดไซเรน (My Ambulance), the theme from the GMM 25 series My Ambulance. Afu wrote the melody and arrangement, Gorp the lyrics, and Praewa Nichaphat Chatchaipholrat and Ice Paris Intarakomalyasut sang it for Nadao Music. It became one of the defining Thai pop hits of the decade and is the record most often cited as the bridge between the Kamikaze era and the current T-pop wave.
He carried the same partnership into Cherry Magic: แอบตะโกน (Loudest Love), the series’ main-couple theme sung by Tay Tawan Vihokratana and New Thitipoom Techaapaikhun for GMMTV Records, is credited to Afu for melody and arrangement and to Gorp for lyrics. His screen-scoring credits also include Cooking Crush (2023), City of Stars and Peaceful Property (2024), Me and Thee, Gelboys, Diva, la Vie and the film Beauty and the Beat (2025), and Love Destiny (2026).
