He scored the series most people treat as the beginning of Thai boys love, and this catalogue has no record of it.

Sompob Pokepoon, known as Boy, born 16 May 1988 in Bangkok, has been composing for Thai television since 2014, when he wrote the music for Love Sick. He is one of the most prolific composers working in the genre, and he sings lead in the wedding band Catchy.

Love Sick is not on this site. Neither are most of the productions he has scored, which is why his filmography box is empty on a page that documents a twelve year career. Stating that is more useful than leaving a reader to conclude he has not worked.

The gap matters because of what a composer does here. Thai boys love leans on its music harder than most television: the theme song is released as a single, the score carries scenes that are written to be quiet, and the soundtrack outlives the series in a way the episodes often do not. Somebody who has been writing that music since the form began has shaped how a decade of it sounds.

The wedding band is not a footnote either. Playing other people’s celebrations is one of the ways working musicians in Bangkok actually earn, alongside the composing.
