War Wanarat Ratsameerat

War Wanarat Ratsameerat (วอร์ วนรัตน์ รัศมีรัตน์) is a Thai actor and singer, known to audiences as War and associated most closely with Thai BL series. He is a multi-instrumentalist and, since the early 2020s, a producer as well, through a company he co-owns with his frequent co-star Yin Anan Wong.

His screen debut came in 2016 in the film The Right Man: Because I Love You, in which he played Than. Smaller television parts followed. He appeared as Tep in Onli(n)e in 2017, then as Kit in Way Back Home and Don in Transistor Love Story, both in 2018. In 2018 he also joined the management company Rookie Thailand, where he stayed until January 2022, when he became a freelance actor.

The work that defined the next six years arrived in 2020. En of Love: Love Mechanics was a four-episode segment of the En of Love anthology on LINE TV. War played Mark, an engineering student carrying a one-sided love, who bumps into a stranger in a club and mistakes him for the person he likes. That stranger, Vee, was played by Yin Anan Wong, and the pairing became known as YinWar. The same year War played Charlie in Club Sapan Fine.

The two reunited in 2021 for The Best Story, a three-episode series that aired on Fridays from 9 to 23 July 2021 and was directed by Ratthapon Keawmeesri. War played Best, who feels he fails at everything, and who falls for Dew, the most admired boy in his class, played by Yin. To get closer to Dew, Best joins the music club. In 2022 Love Mechanics returned as a full-length series, and War played Mark again. He also appeared that year in the film The Fabric, as Achi and Bakkhun.

2024 was his busiest year on screen. In the ten-episode Naka De Salon, which aired on Mondays from 15 April to 17 June 2024 on WeTV, he played Sut. In the science fiction film Taklee Genesis he played Kong, alongside Paula Taylor and Peter Corp Dyrendal. In September he began Jack & Joker: U Steal My Heart!, playing Joke Jomthap Khongsuk, called Joker, a thief who hands stolen money to villagers. His co-lead Yin played Jack, a former taekwondo fighter turned debt collector. The series came from YWPB, the production company the two founded, which is now named Argentis. A special episode followed in February 2025, and in 2025 War also appeared as Khao Jee in the film Neon Flower Waiting for Love.

The YinWar pairing and his production work grew in a clear order. The first four collaborations, En of Love: Love Mechanics, The Best Story, Love Mechanics and then Jack & Joker, moved from a four-episode segment and a three-episode series to a ten-episode WeTV series and then a twelve-episode run on Channel 3 and iQIYI, and the last of those was produced by the pair themselves. Police in Love, a twelve-episode WeTV series that premiered in September 2026, is their fifth series together. War plays Police Senior Sergeant Major Mangkorn Phianwanich, the junior colleague whom Inspector Thiartha, played by Yin, asks to enter a six-month contract marriage.

A pattern is visible in the premises of these roles. Mark and Best are introduced through feelings they have not said aloud. Joker and Mangkorn are introduced through an occupation and an arrangement: a thief who must work with a debt collector on a heist, and a police officer who agrees to a marriage with an end date. Naka De Salon placed him opposite a different lead, Prariyapit Yu, in a story with a supernatural premise, so his filmography is not limited to a single pairing, even though it centres on one.
