Love Bill

Love Bill is a ten-episode Vietnamese boys' love web series from O2 Production, released free on the studio's YouTube channel between 29 October 2022 and 10 January 2023. In Vietnamese it is Lời Hứa Mùa Hạ, which translates closer to "a summer promise" and shares nothing with the English name the studio put beside it on every upload. Episodes are long for the format, thirty-five to forty-five minutes, with one running close to fifty.

Nghia, played by Tran Le Duc, is a teenager who walks out of a wealthy household and is disowned for it. With nowhere to go he meets Thien, played by Nguyen Ba Vinh, a screenwriter whose own career is going badly, and ends up sharing his flat. The two are separated by age, by money and by how much of life each has already had, and neither is certain what the other wants from the arrangement. Family disapproval presses on it from outside while one of the two is still working out his own sexuality from within.

Only those two performers are recorded here. No director and no screenwriter appear in any source this catalogue could check, which for a run of this length is a substantial blank, and the supporting cast is likewise unlisted.

Taken together the ten episodes come to more than six hours. By total running time that makes this the largest single piece of work in the studio's catalogue, ahead of both Mr. Cinderella's eight episodes and the fourteen shorter instalments of Want to See You, which had finished two months before this one began.

The release itself was the usual O2 Production arrangement: no broadcaster, no licensing deal, the studio's own channel carrying the episodes one at a time with an official trailer ahead of them and a single compiled upload afterwards. What distinguishes the record is not the distribution but the naming, which has been left exactly as the production stated it rather than tidied into consistency.
