Want to See You

Want to See You, made in Vietnam as Muốn Nhìn Thấy Em, is a fourteen-episode boys' love web series produced by O2 Production and released free on the studio's YouTube channel between 5 June and 28 August 2022. Ho Si Hau is credited as director. Episodes run short, between fifteen and twenty-five minutes, which is roughly half the length of what the same studio had put out the previous winter.

Thach, played by Nguyen Ba Vinh, is a wealthy restaurateur who loses his sight in an accident. Phuc, played by Vuong Thien Hac, is a university student hired to look after him. The first day goes badly and so do several after it: Thach is bitter about what has happened to him and takes it out on whoever is nearest, and Phuc turns out to be unwilling to absorb it. What follows over fourteen short instalments is the slow conversion of that antagonism into something else, with family conflict and unprocessed trauma interrupting at intervals. Tran Yu Duc Duy appears as Duy, Pham Nguyen Tuong Vi as Nu and Trang Minh as Linh.

The switch to short episodes is worth noticing in its own right. O2 Production's Mr. Cinderella had run eight episodes of thirty to forty minutes; this one runs almost twice as many at under half the length, spread across nearly three months. That is a YouTube shape rather than a television one: shorter uploads, more of them, more often, each a separate opportunity for the algorithm to find a viewer.

Everything else stayed as it was. No broadcaster was involved, no licence was sold, and the series has not been traced to any subscription platform. It went up on the same channel that published the studio's other work, free, one episode at a time, and the full run was later collected into a single upload of over four hours for anyone who preferred to watch it in one sitting.
