Rookie BB

Rookie BB

BIOGRAPHY

Rookie BB (Thai: รูกกี้ บีบี) was a Thai boy band managed by RS Music, launched on 4 June 2010.

The three members were Arm Weerayut Chansook, Iang Sittha Sapanuchart and Pop Supasit Chinvinijkul. Four songs were released with the band. Arm later moved to solo releases under GMMTV Records from 2016 and works as an actor, with a profile of his own in this catalogue.

The band’s debut release title, genre and later status are not named in the sources consulted, so those fields are left blank here rather than filled with a guess.

Rookie BB was assembled from RS trainee artists, and the three members went through a structured programme of vocal and dance lessons before being presented, with vocal coaching led by the teacher Patchrida Wattana. All three were studying at the time, Iang at Thammasat University, Arm at Srinakharinwirot University and Pop at Stamford International University.

Their first single, “Follow u Follow Me”, is an upbeat dance pop track with hip hop touches and a rapped hook, and its video was shot in Rangsit with Baem, Bow and Gale of Kiss Me Five appearing alongside the members. Singles including “ยิ่งใกล้ยิ่งไกล”, “โทรมาฐานะเพื่อน”, “ไม่รู้จัก แต่รักแล้ว” and “แฟนเก่า…อย่าเอาอย่าง” followed through 2012. Arm later joined GMMTV in 2016 and became known for his acting and presenting work.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How were the three members trained?

Through a structured programme at RS. They were brought together as trainee artists and put through vocal and dance lessons, with the vocal work led by the teacher Patchrida Wattana, before being presented as a band on 4 June 2010.

Were they working at this full time?

No, all three were students throughout. Iang was at Thammasat University, Arm at Srinakharinwirot University and Pop at Stamford International University while the band was active, so the whole run sat alongside degrees.

What does the debut single sound like?

Follow u Follow Me is an upbeat dance pop track with hip hop touches and a rapped hook, and the members described it as being about wanting affection returned. Its music video was filmed in Rangsit, with Baem, Bow and Gale of the group Kiss Me Five appearing alongside them.

What else did the band release?

ยิ่งใกล้ยิ่งไกล, โทรมาฐานะเพื่อน, ไม่รู้จัก แต่รักแล้ว and แฟนเก่า…อย่าเอาอย่าง, running through to 2012. Four songs in total are credited to the band, which is the whole of its recorded output.

Why does this page exist at all?

Because it is the earliest part of a career readers know for something else. This was Arm Weerayut Chansook’s first recording work, years before his solo releases and the acting most people know him for, and it is kept so that stretch is visible rather than missing.

Does the status field match the dates?

No. The record marks the band as active while giving its years as 2010 to 2012 and describing it throughout in the past tense. The conflict is left visible here rather than resolved by quietly picking whichever reading looks likelier.

What did Arm do next?

He moved to solo releases under GMMTV Records from 2016 and joined GMMTV in the same year, appearing in series including U-Prince, Water Boyy and Friend Zone 2: Dangerous Area. He also works as a television presenter and hosts his own lifestyle programme.
