UNINE

UNINE was a nine member Chinese boy group formed in April 2019 through audience voting on the iQiyi survival programme Youth With You, and released through iQiyi itself. The group debuted on 6 May 2019 with the EP Unlock and its lead single Bomba, followed by a second EP, Unusual, in October 2019.

The members were Li Wenhan, Li Zhenning, Yao Mingming, Guan Yue, Jia Yi, Hu Chunyang, Xia Hanyu, Chen Youwei and He Changxi. Two of them hold profiles in this catalogue for their screen work, Jia Yi and He Changxi.

UNINE was formed for a fixed term and closed on 6 October 2020, marked by a graduation concert in Beijing.

UNINE worked to a fixed term from the start. After the EP Unlock in May 2019 came Unusual later the same year, which sold 1,251,121 copies in China, then Unforgettable and the eleven track album U-Night Flight in 2020. The nine also fronted their own variety programme, Unine Bomba, appeared on Supernova Games and took on a series of brand ambassador roles.

In December 2019 they were invited to perform “SET IT OFF” at the MAMA ceremony in Nagoya, and the group’s name trended on Twitter and Weibo afterwards. UNINE concluded on 6 October 2020, with the members returning to their earlier groups and solo work, among them Li Wenhan of UNIQ and Jiayi of Mr. Tyger.
