iQIYI

iQIYI is a Chinese streaming service founded in January 2010 and owned by Baidu, with headquarters in Beijing. Alongside the domestic Chinese service it runs iQIYI International, reachable at iq.com and through its own apps, which is based in Singapore with further offices in Thailand, Malaysia and North America and which the company says serves 191 territories.
For BL and GL viewers that international arm is the relevant one. It presents its interface and subtitles in twelve languages including English, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, Malay, Indonesian, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, French and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and it runs a free advertising supported tier with a paid VIP tier above it that adds 1080p playback, viewing on more devices, advance access to episodes and viewing without advertising.
The library is built around Asian drama, with separate collections for Chinese, Korean and Thai series as well as variety shows, anime and films. iQIYI commissions original drama in several of these markets, so a title filed here may be the platform’s own production rather than a licence taken up after broadcast elsewhere. Where a series streams in step with its home release, the advance access that comes with the paid tier is usually what separates the two viewing options.
