The same crossing, a different pair

Love Destiny keeps the premise of the 2018 series and changes who makes the journey. In the original, Ranee Campen and Thanawat Wattanaputi led the cast. The 2018 version aired on Channel 3 from 21 February 2018, and the remake returns to the same channel, so the two versions share a title and a broadcaster. Here a modern surgeon, Great, crosses into the reign of King Narai in Ayutthaya and wakes in the body of Gaew, a man the people around him despise. Phawat Panangkasiri, who directed the 2018 version, directs this one as well, which keeps the same hand on a story told with a new pair of leads.

A surgeon in a despised man's body

The choice of profession does real work in the plot. Great is a surgeon from 2026, the same year the series aired, and he arrives in Ayutthaya carrying modern medical knowledge. He uses it to help others and to rebuild the standing Gaew has lost, so his reputation changes through what he can do. Dech is the character whose path crosses his, and the story follows how their connection develops across the centuries between them.

Source and credits

The story comes from Rompaeng's novel Bupphesanniwat. Natpaphat Phanphoemsiri wrote the screenplay, and Century UU Thailand produced the series. Both the official teaser and the official trailer credit Rompaeng's novel and name Century UU Thailand as the producer, so the source and the production company sit at the front of the promotion.

Promotion and the wider franchise

Century UU Thailand released an official teaser and an official trailer that announced a 14 July start, then posted short teasers for individual episodes on its YouTube channel while the series aired. The 2018 series also has a sequel, Love Destiny 2, which aired on Channel 3 from 18 October 2023, so the remake joins a story that has already been told in more than one season.

Themes

The story rests on a body swap across centuries. Great is an optimistic modern surgeon who is always glad to help others, and the accident that sends him to Ayutthaya leaves him inside a man the whole city despises. That setup turns reputation into the plot: Great cannot choose who Gaew was, only what he does as Gaew, so the series follows a person rebuilding trust through conduct rather than status.

Medicine gives the time travel a practical edge. A surgeon from 2026 carries knowledge that the reign of King Narai does not have, and using it to help the people around him is how Great earns a place in a society that expected nothing good from his body. His growing bond with Dech runs alongside that effort, so the romance develops while he is still deciding whether to look for a way home or to stay and make a life.

Interesting facts

August Vachiravit sings the opening theme, Oh...My Heart. The ending theme, Acting Cool, is sung by August Vachiravit, Na, Thun and Vin.

How it was made

The remake was announced in September 2025. Phawat Panangkasiri, who directed the 2018 series, returns to direct, and Century UU Thailand produces.
